Jeff Quirin: The SchwartzWatch Is On Colorado College's season has ended with a loss to Michigan Tech in the WCHA Playoffs. Will Jaden Schwartz (and brother Rylan) make the jump to the pro ranks?

Are there really any other options than the ATO or stay in school? He would not crack the Blues lineup at this point. Keep it real, Quirin.

Blue future is so bright with kids like Tarasenko and Shwartz, while also having some solid young player on the team right now like Pietrangelo, Oshie etc. They are making me a fan!

Both Schwartz are coming to the team for the playoffs and their line will be called the "Schwartzenator Line" ... YAH GAH GAH YAH (Arnold Voice)

Isn't he injury prone?

The only way I see him jumping straight to the NHL this year is if Steen cant make it back. Even then I wonder if the Blues would be willing to burn 1 year of his ELC. I am guessing he will sign the ATO and play with Peoria.

No, not really. I supposed he could finish out the semester and sign in time for training camp like Oshie did in 2008. But North Dakota was a Frozen Four team. Even Cole, who wanted to stay in school to further his education, took the ATO and "went back to school" after turning pro.

Regarding replacing Steen... Would you rate Schwartz higher than Perron, McDonald, Oshie or Stewart? Not talking about skill only. I mean that blend of experience, physical abilities, motivation, etc. I wouldn't.

Schwartz should not be put in to a Hitchcock bottom six role right off the bat. That's not his game and he will not excel there. If they want a depth winger Sterling, McRae, Cracknell, Grachev are all stronger options.

That said, if there are new injuries to the healthy top 6, which does include Stewart, then perhaps the needs change what the best scenario is.

Not to my knowledge. He injured his ankle in his second game of his first WJC tourney, but that's about it.
