First.

Nice blob as usual Bill.

Congratulations go out to Danny Briere for playing in his 800th NHL game. He received a huge ovation from the crowd, which was especially nice to see in light of his scoring struggles the last few months.

I'm sure he's getting real close to being the Danny Boy we all know and love.

Even with all the injuries, everything really seems to be coming together for this team. It would be great to see them keep it going! Bryz has been excellent and the defense in front of him are making his job a lot easier by clearing away rebounds!

Briere had a stellar game, seemed to be skating really well. Getting primed for the real season.

Shelly Wellwood Jagr is the craziest line combo we might see all season.

Manning looked nervous at first but had a pretty good game. He has a nice hard shot.

What the heck got into Hartnell this year? Last season he would have fallen down before getting a shot off on his breakaway. Now he is sniping goals with the best of them.

Did Lilja get a penalty for giving Theodore a snow shower? That is silly.

Will Schenn replace Czechie on the right point/half wall on the #1 PP unit?
He looked pretty dangerous in that spot.

I just loved when Carle went after Skille for hitting Bryz. Attaboy Matt.

Grossmann looks like he was meant to be a Flyer. Can't wait to see his new deal signed.

Kepp jagr on the 4th line. Limit his minutes, distribute the scoring depth, and he will rarely see the other teams best guys.
Besides, Shelley just makes everyone he plays with look better and the old man needs all the help he can get

Bryz is looking locked in!

You can see a little bit of attitude in his game, LOVE IT!

I want to see that cockiness from him, that confidence.

Yes, that's what the penalty was for. The Flyers benefited from one of those calls earlier this season -- don't remember who the culprit was. In the AHL, Glen Cochrane once broke a guy's nose for snowing a rookie Pelle Lindbergh. Word got around, and no one dared do it again. Old-time hockey, right? Today, everyone looks at the ref and wants an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty called.

Flyers are definitely interested in re-signing Grossmann. Only problem is that he can get $3M+ on the open market, and I don't think the team is going to get a discount (the Stars didn't). We'll see.

That's fine. Double his salary. I have no problem around 3.5 a year for his services. Whoever said he has helped coburn bring the snarl back to his game was spot on!

been playing a couple more minutes/game lately. wish i had numbers to base this on, but i definitely feel like he always plays his best when eating up a ton of minutes.

I was very pleased with the effort and execution last night. The Flyers played a very solid game against a team that's currently leading it's division, who usually plays them pretty hard.

Nice to see Bryzgalov getting love from the fans. Although I do wish that people had been more supportive during his struggles, as Todd Fedoruk pointed out on twitter last night, a lot of guys who have survived the gauntlet of the sometimes fickle fanbase have used it to become better players. Keith Primeau and Scott Hartnell are probably the best examples of this.

I dont know if the Flyers would be willing to spend 3.5M on Grossmann without shipping out another defenseman. I still dont even know what the Flyers are going to do with Carle at the end of the year.

It's very possible that they might decide to move another defenseman to keep Grossmann and Carle. Grossmann has brought a lot of stability, and Carle can move the puck better than most of the rest of the defense. While Erik Gustafsson has shown flashes, I still think they need a guy like Carle.

Some type of injury. But the Flyers defensive depth came through.

Good point about the Fedoruk tweet.

Did you see Bryz in the post game interview? He made a joke that Manning was released from the Colts and Played for the Flyers, then gave a wink to the camera.

Good stuff!

Kind of makes you wonder if we will be able to make a push for Sutter and/or Webber

It's good to see him feel comfortable and there have been little things that show that he and the team are fully on the same page-he's been giving guys stick taps after good defensive play and guys are more protective of him and doing a better job on defense, for sure.

If Suter's going to cost $7mm, I have no desire to add him. If they can get a long term deal that keeps his cap hit down, fine, but if Suter's getting $7mm and Carle's getting $5mm, I'll take Carle.

I would be okay with that if the Flyers decide to do that. You would think it has to be Mezzy or Coburn. Who do you move?

I think Detroit wins that bidding war. Suter is going to get around 6.5-7M easily. The Flyers are going to have to look elsewhere (trade) or sign Carle.
