I don't know how the Devils are going to approach this game.

Do you have a letdown from facing the top team in the East and take the Isles lightly like they always do and lose. Or do you continue the solid play, like they have been saying, and learn from your mistakes ( as that Isles game was after playing a great game in Washington also)?

Nevertheless, should be a good one, hopefully the Devils come out with the two points, but with the Islanders, you never know.

I was at the game last night in Jersey...the Rock is pretty damn nice. Not to mention a good hockey game.

Harmonic or Martin.

Also congrats to rich oil on who made the Lemieux statue today as one of two defenders that got toast on the north stars in 1991 finals.

Nice job by art staple validating my points on bailey. Rolston hurt him. Ullstrom helped him. Skill players need to plat with skill.

Hence my point with Nino and reeasoner and Pandawful. You put skill with shat all you're going to get is shat. Now can the kid rebuild his confidence after playing five minutes a game and with complete garbage?

I've been suggesting Bailey on the wing for a while. Take the responsibility of being a center on a checking line away and let the damn kid find the net. He scored 5-10 less points than Stamkos in their last year of juniors. No way this kid is a bust. Hope this is the cure for him. Only took the organization 3 years to "try something different." Grabs should sit another game and get a stickhandling/shooting video and watch that instead.

Can you tell me who Bailey played on a line with last year? I really don't remember. I'm sure it was multiple line-mates at one point but just name a few.

He also scored less than half as many goals as Stamkos. 67 of his 96 points were assists. Stamkos also had more points in two junior seasons than Josh had in four.

As far as "trying something different", Bailey played the wing with Frans last season also, so this has been tried already.

His play has been undoubtedly enjoyable as of late he's going to have to keep it up for a loooong time before he's out of the woods. Four goals in four games is great, but if he disappears for another 15 it doesn't mean jack.

Wasn't he with Comeau a little bit as well? I know line mates can affect players to a certain level but I can't see why some people continue to give Bailey a rim job over his disappointing career so far.

Oh yeah I forgot about him too. He's certainly been just as invisible playing with decent linemates as he was playing with plugs like Rolston.

I really don't see how anyone could have anything more than cautious optimism about him at this point, and, to me, even that's a little much. Goals in 3 straight games doesn't mean jack, he doesn't need to score every night but he can't be awful for 5 games, invisible for 15, and then play well for 5 or 6. That won't cut it in this league.

I don't hate the guy but he's yet to impress me. Two years ago he finished the season on fire, and started last year on a tear out of the gate. Everyone said he found his game, he's finally living up to expectations, etc... and then he fell off the face of the earth, all the way down to 11 games in the AHL. He's on pace for less points, in more games played, than last year so far this season.

It's tough to say he's been anything but disappointing up to now, and I know there are reasons, but numbers are numbers, and his aren't pretty so far in his career. But this is where the debate gets a bit annoying to me. I don't think most folks here are saying "we hate Bailey" or that he can or will never be a good NHLer. We say up to this point he hasn't proven a darn thing. I'd love to see Bailey turn into a 50 or 60+ point player. But I won't praise him like one until he does it, no matter how many "flashes" he shows. The recent game against Philly was his one and only multi-point game of the year. For starters, let's see him put up a few more games like that for the remainder of this season. And again, for the billionth time, I hope he does, and I think most others here do as well.

Don't get why they don't trade Bailey. I don't know, but most teams, I would think, would look into taking him off the Island.

Change of scenery can often times to wonders for a player. If anything, he will just slot in as a John Madden type player, just a good two-way player with maybe a max of 50 points. However, there is potential there that is untapped and someone must be willing to bite, I would have to say I would do it if I was a GM, depending on who goes the other way.

I think the Isles have seen what happens when you give up on talent too early. Bailey has the skills, everyone can see. With a player like that, you know it's all going to come together shortly. Isles don't have to move him because really they have nobody around that can play his spot. Loving Cizikas, too bad we see him now when had they gave him a taste at the beginning of the season he might have stayed. Oh well, lots of what could have beens and should have beens but just get through this year, get some talent in the summer and come out flying next year.

I think the problem is that since he's underachieved to this point, no GM is going to give us much for him. I'm not sure that flipping him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick makes sense. I wouldn't put him in "bust" status yet because he does show the occasional flash of skill and frankly were not exactly dripping with prospects that are ready to make the jump. Makes sense to keep him around at least until the end of his contract after next season, if nothing else so that some of the young talent in Bridgeport can have a chance to develop the right way.
