Plekanec has certainly been average at best since December but RC is making a complete fool out of himself.

I can't wait for this poop show to be over.

Kamal - "Supporting a terrible on-ice product, while paying for overpriced tickets, jerseys, and other memorabilia? Wow, ownership has it too good."

Can anyone say GOMEZ?^^^

HAHAHAHA, it's so true.

Me and my brother and father were watching the game last night and at a certain point my brother and father were starting to get upset about how bad these teams are, they were saying something about mediocrity in motion - going no where fast.

I truly do think these teams stink but they also put something else into prospective.

That most guys probably don't want to make the play-offs, and they just want to go home early this year, They were saying how they know many guys with that type of attitude and how the league is just all about money now, not hockey.

One of the only good hockey player's ( other than myself ) is P.K subban. He is constantly just playing hockey, to play hockey.. He isn't worried about summer or anything else for that matter. I would take a team of subban's and ME any day over almost every member on the canadiens.

Was price ever good in the first half or what!!! The look he had on his face reminded me of brodeur.

"Toronto really looked like a team who was afraid to lose, rather than playing to win. Sounds like the Habs under Jacques Martin!"

Well here is a thought. At least they were afraid to lose under JM. They have no such fear under RC. I will be very happy to see a complete house cleaning at the end of the season. RC is in way over his head. I wanted to see him succeed as much as anyone, and I know he was thrown under the bus, and I know there is not at lot to work with. BUT. He looks like he is confused as hell behind the bench, and he is completely mismanaging the assets he does have. He has not earned an ounce of consideration to continue past April.

Absolutely agreed. Pleks is having a terrible year for some reason. Perhaps the new baby has colic. Who knows? And I get that there are 2 young C-men who want to compete for time, and I actually don't mind increasing their time. But if you are playing Pleks as 3rd line centre, at least give him a couple of prospects with top-6 potential to work with. Then tell him it's about giving the young guys a chance with a talented centre. Or perhaps use these games to see if Eller can be made a top 6 winger.

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole is definitely our top line at the moment. Leave them alone and let them build momentum for next year, and hopefully they will be line 2 behind a better line after July 1.

White-Nokelainen-Staubitz is definitely the fourth line. Neither of these guys have any business being anywhere else.

So mix up lines 2 and 3 over the next few games to get a sense of what potential there is. Make sure Pleks is playing centre in all of them, since we clearly do not intend to make him a winger.

For example, try

Bourque-Pleks-Eller
Geoffrion-Engqvist-Leblanc

or

Leblanc-Pleks-Palushaj
Bourque-Eller-Geoffrion

or

Bourque-Pleks-Leblanc
Eller-Engqvist-Geoffrion

You get the picture. Wouldn't it be great if we actually landed Nail, and then signed Semin or Parise in the off season?

Imagine...

Parise/Semin-Pleks-Yakupov
Pac-DD-Cole
Bourque-Eller-Leblanc
White-UFA(Gaustad)-Moen
Staubitz

Once we lose the Gomez salary, that is entirely doable and still have cash for a 4D.

That game was a rare time I wanted the habs to lose to the leafs. If the leafs still had a chance at the playoffs then id be choke but they are pretty much dead in that race.

I really like RC, and think he is a great guy. I really hope he succeeds as a good NHL coach someday. As bad as the Habs are, I actually find them more interesting to watch under him than they were under JM. That being said, I really want the new GM to bring in Marc Crawford next year. We have to get him before its too late because some other team will soon grab him. Brian Burke even said in his press conference that he looked at Crawford for a long time before deciding to go with Carlyle. I know im going to disgust a lot of people here but what about Pierre McGuire as the GM? I hate the guy as much as everybody else and I'm so happy that he doesn't call the TSN games anymore. But I give credit where credit is due, he does seem to know a lot about the game. This guy knows everything about every prospect in the game. He knows where they play, where they're from, what they eat for breakfast.... I personally think he can lead us in the future.

Just a random rant... A team shouldn't be allowed to finish in the lottery three years in a row and grab all the superstars. The Penguins did it and now the (frank)ing Oilers are going down the same road. Let them go twice and if they suck so bad the third year, they should be punished for it, not rewarded.

You can't punish a team because it sucks. The fans are already punished.

It takes time to rebuild and sometimes, the rebuild won't work.

At the end of the day, owners will lose money and GMs and coaches will be fired. That is the punishment.

Habs have a good shot at the #2 pick - EDM is 4pts back with 2 games in hand

If they finish tied - I believe the tie breaker is Wins - EDM has more - so we should be cheering on the Oil from here til the end of the season

Could be wrong, but I am not sure there is a huge difference between the player who will be drafted number 2 and the one who will be drafted number 3.

While I've been on board for the tank as of about game 20 this season, you've got to feel for Price. The guy is one of the only ones putting in a full effort night after night. I can't for the life of me understand why he's still on pace for 72 starts with the season clearly in the toilet. Give the guy a break

I already knew last season that Pacioretty would be good for you guys this year, but I sort of scoffed at the Cole signing, and he's proving me wrong, Cole really does look solid out there almost every game I watch.

I agree about McGuire, although if you read some of the articles out there since it's come up bringing him in would have it's detractors as well.

I personally would have taken Carlyle ( I remember reading somewhere he speaks french) over Crawford. I find it ridiculous that they've decided Cunneyworth isn't going to be the future coach, yet they refuse to replace him until the summer.

Edit: Personally I think the best thing to do would be to bring McGuire in as head of scouting. The one thing everyone agrees on despite how weird he is is that he knows players. I feel like he might not leave TV for that though.

I liked the signing, but thought it was too much money. I'll admit he's really surprised me though, the guy gives it 100% every night. So long as he plays like that I'm fine with his contract.

There's DEFINITELY way worse contracts, and even if he slows down a bit and falls out of favour the contract isn't so bloated that it'd be impossible to move.

We traded it for one season of Robert Lang I believe. It was a GOOD season though...

Grabo, like sergei Kostitsyn, and Tender (though he has yet to prove anything) all needed to leave to be successful. They were prima donnas here and the trades helped them refocus. Its just pathetic that the organization cant do a better job of insulating these kids so they can thrive here instead of elsewhere...

Players have to be tough to play here man. You can't do much to help a guy who is weak in the head.

We need guys with strong characters and with the rind mindset, not only the skillset.

Pacioretty could've really faded away if he would've been weaker in the head, in 2010 he was seen as an average prospects, and now he's a 25 goal scorer.
