I'd like to say I care about this team, but I don't. Serious changes need to be made starting with Wang all the way down to Capuano.

Reading that blog was like watching "Groundhog Day" but less humorous!

Just to finish making my last point....THIS is what this team needs, above all else.....watch number 4, in the red jersey, and learn:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVeqzYgTELk

Let that be a lesson to you kids....don't look at the puck while you're stickhandling....

PS- Don't tell me, "yeah, but he'd be suspended for that now." BS- it was a clean, shoulder hit, and he did not leave his feet. Lindros didn't retire early, "because he unfortunately got concussions which cut his career short." Lindros retired because he stickhandled with his head down- i.e., because HE was a dumbsh*t....and every Flyer, for the rest of that game, was looking for number 4 when he crossed the blue line......AS IT SHOULD BE, which is my point....

You're right you know.

Head up and Lindross misses that hit.

#71 is great at avoiding high speed contact, the Lecavilier incident is a great example of head up and getting away from a hit.

As you said though in today's standard, Stevens would get a suspension, but that head hit is not the fault of the hitter but the hitee

God, I miss watching Stevens play. Nobody in hockey today hits the way he did. Guys like Stevens are extremely rare. It'd take a miracle to find one.

Good morning Hockey people and that blog gave me a head ache. Everytime I say all right today is the day I am goign to read one it ends up being the worst one.

It is good to see we have another DP in teh clubhouse in Al Montoya. I guess the Islanders miss the drama of not having a goalie who is hurt. Thanks for taking over the reigns. How did he hurt himself getting out of bed? Maybe he did it sitting on the bench? I heard those benches are rough.

Anyway I see this tonight: First period the Islanders get maybe 4 shots on goal. Philly will get about 15. Second period the Islanderd make it look like they care and out shoot Philly 13 to 9 and score one goal. In the third they sit back like they are on a cruise with a drink in there hands and get out shot 17 to 8 with Philly scoring 2 with an EN and the Islanders lose once again. At this point I really dont care win or lose. If no one on the Islanders care so do I. I have no guys on my fantasy team playing in this game so oh well. I am taping the game. SO once they start losing I can fast forward and watch in like 10 minutes

talking about the Nystrom hit on Letang. Milbury and JR disagreed if he hit Letang in the head (He didn't by the way). So JR said.. let's just take hitting out of hockey and be done with it.... got heated from that point. JR called him soft and said he is going to buy him a Shirley Temple... was pretty funny.

YEah he is but I think the hitting and the fighting needs to come back. That is what made rivalries. It was funny not as many people got hurt years ago before they started putting every hit and fight under a microscope. Lets face some of us when to a game just to see that. I have been in a few hockey fights but basically stayed freinds with the guy. It is about passion pumping up the crowd and the team now guys have to find that on there own and as we see with our team that is well not happening

Just to clarify on this statement because I just watched the video, JR was saying this sarcastically.

I thought it was funny too. They are both passionate. I thought the nystrom hit was fine but understand where milbury was coming from.

Question for NYI78 I guess, if he's still reading...Nilsson is posting a .925 save% in the AHL. Has he looked as good down there as those numbers would indicate? What's your opinion of his game overall?

he has been great..and clearly out played poulin..his postioning and reads have been unreal..great rebound control and is playing with a ton of confidence..also he has been a wall in shootouts and his glove hand is better than i thought...he is clearly learning the game and progressing..i'm often asked who's better..i feel..poulin will be a good nhl goalie..i believe that anders has the ptential to be a great nhl goalie

I said last season that I thought, in the long run, Nilsson would be the best of the 3 goalie prospects

Maybe a lucky guess.. But it was hard to ignore his superhuman numbers from the SEL playoffs last year.

Side note: Anyone else listen to Tavares on Boomer and Carton this morning?

In the very limited times I've seen them, it seemed to me that Poulin was quicker but Nilsson was better at positioning. I think I remember reading that Sudsy wanted Nilsson to work on his quickness this year...but if he's that good in shootouts, he must have made some good progress in that area since the beginning of the season.

I think quickness is going to be the biggest thing for Nilsson to develop. If he does, maybe (notice I said maybe) he'll be as good as Pekka Rinne, who's the same size. I think Poulin has more of a Cam Ward-like game, who's also similar in size to him.
