You guys are going to love TJ. Out of all of the players to leave the avs in recent years he is the one I will miss the most. Sacco is an idiot and just killed TJ's game. He skates fast, is great at creating take aways and can really get under the other teams skin.
Winnik is a strong versatile forward. He is amazing at play along the boards and cycling the puck and will really help out your pk.
It was a good deal for both teams. How do you guys feel about the prospects that came to the avs? How high up on your depth chart were they? |

TSN said we were in hard on JVR from Philly. I wonder who Wilson was offering. In the summer I think Wilson is looking for a more physical Power forward. |

Yeah - I saw that TSN stated that Wilson offered up Niemi for Van Reimsdyk (seems like a REAL long shot for Wilson to try to make that offer; they've already got one under performing goalie that's eating up cap space).
Still, I have to wonder if that report was true. If it is, that's really interesting...I can't imagine Greiss taking over the starting role, *maybe* Nittymaki. I think long term Stalock or Sexsmith have potential, but do you want to hang your Stanley Cup aspirations on any of those gigantic question marks? |

Not sure about Sgarbossa but I dont think Connelly was going anywhere fast. I think you guys will definitely like having McGinn as well. Tough as nails and a good team guy. He's looked much, much more polished this year as well, |

He's questionable for Tuesday vs the Flyers, it's a lower body injury. |

Mike Connoly will likely be a career AHLer or a fringe player.
Sgarbossa has top 6 forward potential and one of the coolest sounding names in the league. |

I will admit McGinn has played better in the regular season this year but I only judge players on their playoff performance.
Right now it seems like this trade is a clear win for the Sharks but we will see how Winnik and Galiardi perform in the playoffs (I am still waiting to judge Havlat, Burns, Moore, Handzus, Vandermeer and Winchester as well).
I guess my one exception for judging a player in the regular season would be Colin White but come on the guy is terrible! If he does end up playing ok in the playoffs my opinion of him will change though. |
