The Nash rumored trade cost is hard for me to accept.
Is it; one in the bush is worth two+ in the hand? Not normally.
I guess that is the decision somebody needs to take.

Current team looked goodl last night.

Go Preds!

Nash would HAVE sign an extension with the Preds for this "proposed trade" to become acceptable for us. Losing young talent like Wilson and Ellis is too risky for a player if he doesn't want to be with Nashville long-term.

Nash is signed through 2017-2018 season.

There is nothing wrong with your computer screen, the Winnipeg Jets are now 8th in the East.

I think they were third yesterday before losing to St. Louis.

Correcct on both comments. I too think Ellis and particularly Wilosn is a high price to pay for nash. Granted i have been Jonesing for him forever but damn that is a lot of assets to give up.

Poile better hope Nash wants to play here in Nashville, then.

Really? I think that would be the fleece of the year. What would be insane is if Howson traded for it. Not only what he gets in return but also within the division. How he's still the GM is beyond me.

I can't imagine any real scenario where Howson trades Columbus' favorite son to the team's most hated rival. It'll never happen. I think it's more likely that this was intentionally leaked to show Suter and Weber that Poile's trying. Think about it, when was the last time we absolutely knew what Poile had on the table for anyone?

We're not getting Nash. It's just as well. I don't want to give up Ellis and Wilson either.

As for first round draft picks, remember how so many of us wanted Poile to pick Emerson Etem and he went for Austin Watson instead?

Emerson's stats this year:

GP - 56
G - 53
A - 40
P - 93
PIM - 30
+/- +21

Watson's stats this year:

GP - 51
G - 24
A - 38
P - 62
PIM - 45
+/- +5

I've never been enamored with Watson, and until he does something that Etem doesn't, I'm going to feel like Poile really blew that pick going for size rather than talent.

I agree with this. I don't see Poile giving up our young prospects for Nash. We will find out soon!

Lets not forget that Jordan Tootoo was an offensive threat in Juniors and obviously that is not his role in the NHL. Watson is still really young, still growing, still learning. Also everyone questioned Poile when he drafted Suter before Phaneuf and IMO Suter is a better dman than Phaneuf. And on the other end of the spectrum Poile drafted Kevin Klein BEFORE Shea Weber....So it is just really hard to predict.

I don't want them to trade Wilson either, but add Lindback instead and that deal looks decent to me.

Who would backup Rinne? That's pretty important. If Rinne goes down who do you trust to take his place?

I'd rather Poile went after Dustin Brown, but I haven't seen a Kings' scout in the building at all. I doubt he's even dialed Lombardi's digits.

i dont think they will trade nash within the division either. that would be a nightmare for their fanbase to see nash/nashville come in and play them so many times a year.

BUT, if we did get him...wouldnt suter & weber HAVE to re-sign??? i mean, what more proof would they need to stay?

but i agree also. i dont want to lose wilson. i really like his game.

Haha,

Sooooooooo we don't want to give up solid forward, young D who is still small, minor league d-man and a 1st rounder for...

-Guy who has only scored less than 30 goals once in his career (twice if you count rookie season)
-Won the Richard trophy
-One of the best forwards in the game
-Entering Prime of his career
-Singed through 2018
-Does what coaches ask of him
-Convinces Suter and Weber Preds are serious?

I agree this isn't going to happen, but it would be insane not to take this offer from the Preds side.

Dustin Brown would be awesome in a Preds uniform. I hate that he got a hat trick yesterday. Doesn't help the cause at all.

I am not as excited about replacing Wilson with Nash...but adding Nash and alternately sitting Bourque, Yip or Halischuck has a great deal of zing! They would have to trust a farm hand to back up Pekka.

Not if every word out of their mouths is simply lip service. It's entirely possible that one or both of them just flat out wants to leave and everything said is a bunch of bs meant to cover their butts when they leave town.

If Poile goes through all of this, gets these guys the players to make this team a legit cup contender and they still walk I'll get over their loss, but I will lose all respect for them, and boo them every time they touch the puck in the opposing team's uniform simply because they lied.

The Nash rumors are actually legit, talked to my friend who worked for the jackets for a bit and still has friends in the organization. All comes down to if howson wants to deal in the division and if Nash will waive for us.

There is a deadline for this to protect Poile in case this stretches well into tomorrow.

So basically what I heard is there are multiple offers on the table, Howson can chose one or he can choose not to move Nash. Ours is a good offer, but again, it depends if nash wants to come here and if they want to move him.

I suspect Poile has a back up plan.
