John Toperzer: Sidney Crosby back skating & smiling with team
While there's no change in Crosby's status, Penguins fans should be encouraged with the star's skating and demeanor - the-mitch-wilsons
John have you heard anything on Clowe or Oshie? Or are you just wishful thinking? I think it would take a lot to acquire either one of those guys but I'd love to have either. Nice Blog! |

Maybe all of Crosby's teammates are delirious from laughter from watching Crosby skate in aimless little circles off in his own corner of the ice somewhere.Hilarious! |

And yet it isn't nearly as funny as the Sabres record this year. Well, at least you are getting your money's worth with Leino's contract.

No. The price tag for Nash was reportedly Pavelski and others. Clowe isn't the untouchable Pavelski apparently is. Oshie was probably more of a trade target last year, especially because of Langenbrunner's injury and Oshie's improved play. But these are two guys whose names have been mentioned that would help out the Pens. With Crosby continuing to look good, it's hard seeing Shero make an expensive move. |

Even after practice, Crosby spent at least 10 minutes rotating with James Neal taking angled shots on goal -- a very good sign. I can appreciate those tiring of Crosby practice updates instead of game updates, but that's where everything stands. |

I don't understand why St Louis would be looking to trade Oshie -- is he on the outs there for some reason ? Every time I see them play (granted, not that often), he is really good. |

I don't have a very good read on it. The only thing I know for sure is the kind of player that Shero looks for. As far as guessing who or what, he is a sneaky dude. Even the Hossa trade came out of left field at the last minute. |

he isnt going anywhere. The blues arent looking to do anything major and that top line clicks so well. they still wouldnt trade him even if it meant getting someone like nash or parise. |

We have the most tight lipped organization. They don't even drop hints. |

It might not fuel our blog discussions but I like that they(Pens/Shero) are quiet and professional about it. |

Is Carter really worth JJ and a 1st? Thought that was a lil steep.
Not sure why the Blues would trade Oshie, but if we can get rid of a certain heavy contract on D, why not. |

The net gain/loss for the Jackets on that whole situation was giving away Sean Couturier, Voracek, Nick Cousins, and Carter himself for JJ and a 1st. Not exactly a successful venture, but I do give credit for them recovering anything from Carter, who has been a malcontent baby with CBJ with a never ending contract. Howson was in a tough spot and got something, he could have done much worse.
And it looks like that culture change is going to come at the expense of LA trading Brown, what a mistake. Short term ambitions have clouded Lombardi's long term clarity. He is on the hot seat, so he doesn't care. |

LA is desperate for offense, and Lombardi is probably feeling that his job is in jeopardy. It's a big risk taking on that term, but probably one that the Kings felt they had to take. |

One that Lombardi felt he had to take as you stated (job security).
Very shortsighted. |
