Go get em Isles. IF you can pull out the W, and NJ can pull out the W, we can put some pressure on these Rangers. They've been in 1st, uncontested for far too long. |

(frank) that..that is way to much...YOU CAN NOT TRADE NUMBER ONE PICKS WHEN YOUR TEAM SUCKS... - NYI78
Agree or disagree?
Heard this on Hockey Night on MSG a few weeks ago…
Okposo is still highly regarded and would probably bring back the most (outside of JT). While we all like Moulson, Grabner and PA, ther are considered reclamation projects to most of the league and probably wouldn’t bring back as much. |

Kyle Okposo and a conditional #1 - kear20
IMHO, Okposo can go, but not the 1st.

Dee Karl: Isles vs Rangers 2/24/12
The 5th of 6 meetings this season. - Dee Karl
The Rangers have lost 2 of their last 3, not 2 in a row Dee.
Can't believe I actually read the blog. |

I think you guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment by talking about all these bigger names. Also, I don't see Garth trading Okposo just months after finding him worthy of a 5-year contract. Things don't move that fast on Long Island. It takes like two months of losing to even consider switching up lines, and probably another two months to actually scratch a player who hasn't scored since Halloween. |

I wrote to Dennis Bernstein of the Fourth Period through Twitter about Okposo and this is what he wrote back...

@kear20 Source close to Isles say Okposo not being dealt. NYI not in market unless team want to significantly overpay for asset.

My take of the above is that any trade the Islanders make will be players in the last year of their contracts that they can't sign (PA and/or Nabokov) or they want to get rid of (Eaton, Jurcina, Stais, etc.) |

Garth won't make any deals for significant players before the deadline because that's not what he does. Garth moves low-end crap or vets with expiring contracts he knows he doesn't want back for mid-round or later draft picks and then supplements the team's roster in late-August, early-September with the table scraps left over by the rest of the league after free agency. This is Garth's M.O. and it will not change unless or until he gets over his fear of moving assets in deals and can sell Long Island to UFA's. |

BD covers the NYI for CBS sports now. The guy is actually a great writer, very informative and offers some good insight.
Sibling rivalry was hysterical. I miss that on these boards big time. |

Good morning hockey buzzers it is a beautiful day. Today is goign to be awesome I can feel. Something is going to go down with the Islanders today. Eitehr they sign Nabby or some type of trade. I just feel it. Everything is going perfect today so I see the Islanders winning tonight by the score of 3 - 1. Remember you heard it here first that something will happen. |

If we hear something in regards to the arens aor where in the world we are playing then I feel things will change. I Dotn know got this feeling in my gut that when that happens Garth is bye bye. Wont need a yes man anymore to cover up for the under ground stories |

Really Al Trautwig and Kenny Danyeko? Really? I never listen to those guys they aggravate me so much. The Islanders would never make that trade in a million years. Snow has not made a trade since God knows when so why start now. This is his team he put together and he loves these guys, cause he beleives in them so no trade for you |

You will not be waving bye bye to Garth anytime soon. Look how long it took Milbury to get out of the organization and he left on his own terms, Wang didnt fire him. Garth will not ever get fired, it just wont happen. There are times where I think Snow sucks as a GM, but then I try to put into perspective that his hands are tied by our nutbag owner. We all know Garth doesnt have "an open wallet" and certainly is Wangs "yes man." I really think our issues are caused by our owner and then there is a trickle down effect.
Again, nothing with any significance will happen with the NYI until the arena situation is sorted out.

Dave Maloney said it...he hates the Islanders...Danyeko is usually pretty good when talking about the ISlanders... |

Tonites game is just another game, theres no rivalry anymore, thats just my opinion. We know what the Rags are, an what the Isles are. Plain an simple, as a huge Islander fan, but realistic hockey person, wish the Isles win, but hate to say it, but, Rags are more talented in every fascet, starting with GM an Coach, an maybe thinking Owner as well..................
