I think Carter is a much better fit for the Leafs than Nash. I don't see how Carter fits with Ottawa. Carter or Nash with Vancouver would be formidable. I think LA needs to proceed cautiously. One more bad deal and you may have to blow this team up.

Wait until the off-season, get more teams involved before trading any of the big guys. Only trade off now what you definitely dont want on the team anymore.
A rush decision will be a bad decision......

Scouts from Vancouver, Ottawa, Pittsburgh (2), NY Rangers, Montreal, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Detroit all were in attendance at Nationwide Arena to see the display put on by both Carter and Rick Nash who had a goal and an assist on the Carter hat trick goal on a very unselfish play.

It´s quite strange that - like suggested here - NHL teams would need to send out their scouts to ´evaluate´ players that have been in the league for over 5 years.. Basing a possible trade offer on a 1-2 game performance seems not to be the most professional approach in such important issues for a franchise; one would think that each team´s internal evaluation process of possible trade targets is already realized long before possibly making such a trade..

The BJs should not trade either Nash or Carter

Give them a chance to start the season healthy together along with JW - if those 3 cannot get them off to a good start next season - then look at trading them

Now is the time to trade anyone else that can bring them back something in the form of picks and prospects but give these 3 a chance to start the season together - without injury and suspension

"Ottawa - Carter"

Where did that come from, more like Ottawa RJ Umberger or Vermette, there hasen't even been the smallest rumor of Ottawa looking into Carter, and why would they, we don't need a C, even though he can play the wing he's a natural C, doesn't seem to be a lot of thought put into that connection

Because Ottawa would rather have Turris as the 2nd line centre than Carter???

Murray loves Turris. His cap hit is perfect. Why fool around when things are going so well.

Because Turris isn't good enough to be a 2nd line centre. It wasn't too long ago that secondary scoring dried-up and Turris was nowhere to be found. His cap hit is one thing but his effectiveness is yet another.
