The Avs need to hold onto Stastny if they want to have any chance at signing Parise this summer. |

One could hope thats true.
A Parise-Stastny-Landeskog line would be great. |

And your other lines are what? Assuming Parise gets his desired price tag of 8 mill, how do you fit it under the cap for a period longer than three years? |

even tho orielly is our top scorer and he has been one of our top 2 players all year (him and landdy) but can you be 100% that he well produce like this year in and year out? if he can thats great but if he cant and we tradded stastny what do we do then?
i personally think that they should try and move quincey and jones in a package for either carter or semin!
and i also think that obyrne wilson and hedja should try to be moved! keep obrien and start next season if possible with Johnson, Elliot, Obrien, Barrie, Gaunce,Free Agent
Just my thoughts |

Wouldnt do anything big, Ive come around on standing pat at the center position as well. Realistically it would be nice to have your top 3 lines centered by the likes of Duchene, Stastny and O'Reilly.. and it was pointed out before thats kinda exactly what the Penguins did with Malkin, Crosby and Staal. Injuries have plagued this team, Duchene and Radar are under team control for awhile..good problem to have, an asset to deal from in the future, but def not something to try and make a team out of right now.
As for the deadline, I'd say to deal Jones, see what the market for Quincey and Wilson are but to hang on to SOB and Winnik.. no brainers there. IF Hejduks really contemplating retirement, it also wouldnt hurt seeing what the market for him is like. I understand hes been a fixture on this team, but realistically, if I'm a GM, I plan for the future. Holding onto guys like Sakic are one thing, but time and time again we have seen tremendous value for veteran rentals. This teams in no position to sacrifice cogs in its future to preserve the memory of one more player as an Avs lifer, ultimately the decision lies with Hejduk with his NTC.
The offseason is where this team can thrive; tons of cap space and a few interesting players.. Free agency could definitely be where this team has to make up ground, add in a scoring winger and a couple pieces and it could be just the infusion this team needs. |

The only guy I would have from Buffalo is the coach Lindy Ruff as he might look for a job this summer. |

Well if, its really 8M, then i dont bother. But it shouldnt be too difficult to get under the cap for the next two years.
Stastny is a free agent 2 seasons after this one, meaning that 6.6 is freed up.

Gabriel Landeskog ($3.575m) / Paul Stastny ($6.600m) / Z Parise ($6.500m)

TJ Galiardi ($2.000m) / J McClement ($2.000m) / Chuck Kobasew ($1.250m)
Joey Hishon ($1.200m) / Brad Malone ($0.875m) / K Porter ($1.500m)
DEFENSEMEN
Jan Hejda ($3.250m) / Ryan O'Byrne ($1.800m)
Erik Johnson ($5.000m) / Tyson Barrie ($0.900m)
Stefan Elliott ($0.900m) / Cameron Gaunce ($0.845m)
R Wilson ($2.000m) / K Quincey ($3.500m)
GOALTENDERS
Semyon Varlamov ($2.833m) / Jean-Sebastien Giguere ($1.250m)
And I've given some healthy raises in this scenario.
This would put them just under 61M. |

If you ask me, nobody is untouchable.
I don't give a sheeeeeiiiiiiiit. This franchise has turned into a joke, and it's shameful to watch. I don't know how much more of my life I'm going to devote to something as silly as watching professional sports. |

I'm just saying wait until next season to trade stastny. First get parise then trade stastny for some other top 6 forward. Also, Parise will only get 7 mil
Parise Duchene Mueller
Landy O'Reilly Top 6 forward man
Gali McClement Winnik

Colorado is one of the few places that Rick Nash could land without much concern over money. Columbus is looking to shed salary, and Colorado could stand to add several million.
Rumor has it that Columbus wants to get rid of Nash and Mason together to free up their cap situation. So how does this sound:
Columbus receives: Paul Stastny, Kyle Quincey, Cameron Gaunce, J.S. Giguere, 2nd Rd. Pick
Colorado receives: Rick Nash, Steve Mason
I would do that in a heartbeat. It would hurt to lose Stastny and Giguere, but getting Nash to play on a line with Duchene and Landeskog would be brutal. Secondly, maybe two young goalies with a lot of potential would be good to play off on each other. Mason has it in him, he just needs to find his game. |

Thanks for that. Proofreading is advisable when you are trying to put someone down. When you muck up the English language that bad, it just makes you look dumb.
That being said... Avs owner has claimed he has no issue with his GM spending to the cap, so why not do it to acquire a star? Or are you one of the ones that wants to wait around forever to build a championship? It's not working for Edmoton, and I can't see it working for us. |

Didn't have him on the 4th line, was just listing guys with salaries for cap calculations.
Keep your idiot commentary to yourself. Thanks. Even though it doesnt bother mewhen stupid people call me an idiot, i'd still prefer not to see it. |

Ummm, the Bolded player is where I have a problem. Porter needs to never play for the Avs again! And Parise is going to at least get 7-7.5 easily. |

Yeah, thats ok.
Again, the names aren't what are important for the 4th line. I just wanted to assign a dollar figure, to show that its possible to fit into the cap structure.
Either way, even if Parise does get an extra million, he still fits under the cap with room to spare. Ive also given EJ and O'Reilly probably more than they will get in their upcoming contracts. So theres some more leeway there.
In 2 years from now, theyll have Stastny's 6.6 million to play with for any additional salaries to whoever will be UFA or RFA.
I also heard a rumor from Pierre Maguire who said that he believes that Suter and Parise may try to pull a Lebron James/Dwayne Wade scenario where they may team up and try to go together to a team.
Ideally, these players will take less than market value to make it possible, and the avs are in a position to make the move. Obviously some moves would need to be made, ie trading Quincey & Hejda.
