It's almost cruel to remind us that Pronger is out for the rest of the season and the playoffs.

I am particularly psyched for this game, in spite of the stupid 1 pm start time, because a friend who is deployed to Afghanistan will be here for the game on his mid-deployment leave. Woo!

On Carle, I would have liked to see him paired with Grossman, but the probable reason is that Lavy and the staff believes that Mezzy is the one who needs a bit more help. Carle has basically been solid all year paired with the "replacement of the day."

I know he sucks, and is soft, and has no shot, and turns the puck over ten times a game, and kills kittens in his spare time. Ive also heard he was the second shooter on the grassy knoll, but actually missed because his shot is so terrible.

Contrary to some, I think Lilja does a good job when he is in. And now the addition of Grossman helps to slot him back to where he would need to be, IE, playing 10-12 minutes on the 3rd pair. And in that role, with those minutes, I think he is effective.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that come playoff time.

Meh, maybe. Unless Homer is trying a package deal of him and Johnson. I think you and I discussed this some last night. I originally thought it might be JVR, but after sleeping on in, could be Vorchek.

They have no shot at 1 games. 40% at 3. 60% at 5. 85% at 7 and 7:30. 87% at 8. Then sky's the limit at 10 and 10:30

Think how nasty that D would be with Pronger in there instead of Bourdon (although I give the kid credit for the job he has done).

Should be a great test today, Penguins are playing some damn good hockey!

Excited to see what Grossman brings, but I guess if he is doing his job we shouldn't really notice him.

He has generally done very well in goal against the Pens in his still-short NHL career. But Bryzgalov (who missed three games last week while battling the flu) has only played once since the 0-0 game against the Islanders.

I dont think Bob has lost one game to the Pen's, could be wrong though. I know he has a very good record vs them.
