The Chicago Blackhawks made ZERO roster moves today. The NYR will officially end the Hawks season tomorrow night. There is no way the Rangers wont score 5+ goals on the Hawks and there is NO WAY the Hawks get more than 1 on Hank. dammit

That's good, maybe Hank can get some "rest" that game if Chicago is that bad lol

I'm going to the game on Sunday against Columbus... I also want to try to get to the game next Saturday against Buffalo.

---

I bet Biron goes against CLB on Sunday but Hank tomorrow.

I am going to that Buffalo game, my first game at MSG this year.

I feel the need to scream and shout for the Rangers, so glad I am getting there soon.

I was watching the Bruins/Habs game, and listening to how frustrated Kostitsyn is in MTL, what do you guys think about him? Hes a pretty good all around player.

No clue, dont get to see him play enough, but he seems like the kind of guy that could get into the system. Hes a good passer and shooter, he does use his body and hes not a big liability defensively. Hes a + player and been a minus player 2 times in 7 years.

To all you Rangers fans. With your team playing as well as they are and chemistry at an all time high. Would you be ok with Sather risking team chemistry by blowing up his roster (that is debatable but taking possibly 2 to 3 roster players off of your team is blowing it up to me) to acquire Nash and risk ruining the chemistry?

Personally I think it's an absolutely ridiculous idea.

Weve talked plenty about it and the conscensus is that we dont want it. We dont want it to blow up the team, we dont want it to take on a contract that could screw us moving forward.

I think he would be better than him, Wolski came from Yotes and Avs... west coast style...

Kost, on the other hand, has been an east player his entire career, he knows how it goes here and has always been with underachieving players in MTL. I dont necessarily think he will step his game up, but he could be good for 50+ pts a year.

Cont:...
On the flip side, were looking to make a bigger impact in a trade, where we move Dubi and get someone to fill his spot. Kost is not worth Dubi, and we'd would end up with an excess of guys, and Kost might still not get the TOI hes looking for here. *shrug*

Just something I was thinking about if Nash doesnt happen, Symth doesnt waive and Whitney decides to stay in the west.

dude, at the '94 trade deadline, Neil Smith acquired Mike Keenan types of players for a long playoff run, not guys that looked great when you looked up their stats.

Same thing this time, only players that are John Tortorella type players are being brought in here. Guys who block shots, sacrifice their body, play hurt, etc.

If you think Andrei Kostitsyn is that kind of player I am afraid for you.

This is also why I question the pursuit of Nash. Is he a John Tortorella type player? They better frankin hope so if they are planning on giving up 4 or so great assets for him. Plus that huge contract

who knows the mind games going on behind the scenes.

Sather is renowned for them.

Maybe he just planted Ranger interest out there to drive the price up for another team in the East who actually will ultimately trade for him.

I wouldn't put anything past Mr. Slats.

Under Torts this team will never be a high scoring team. Just isn't the style they play. So why go for a huge goal scorer?

Rangers are in the age of being that team that wins 2-1 games. So far this year it is working out fine. Don't see why Sather would need this.

I hope your right and he is just playing mind games with the rest of the league.

Edit: I know we need more scoring, but I am just trying to say it isn't worth giving up the major assets for one when push comes to shove this team is going to win by defense anyway.

I dont think hes gonna be sacrificing his body much, but hes had over 100 hits in each of the last 2 years, so he will bang with guys. Just saying, hes not a bad player that could be available.

I hope thats the case, would be a smart thing for them to do... it might be a + for whichever team in the short term, but in the long term its gonna hurt them big.

I know you think that, I am pretty confident that Torts wouldn't think of him the same way.
