Looking forward to this one and hopefully getting the bad taste out of my mouth left over from the Vancouver game.

I hope the broadcast gets some good coverage of the fan reaction to Fisher. It's always heartening to see a city welcome back a former favorite even when he's with an opponent.

I'm not sure the Predators really have anyone similar in their history, yet. I suppose Sullivan comes close, but not quite the same longevity there. Not that I'm pushing Crispy out the door, but I really hope Sullivan is on the shortlist of future color commentators.

There is no doubt Fisher will get a resounding ovation tonight. I'm sure the Senators organization will put a video tribute to Fisher up on the scoreboard as well. They are typically pretty classy about things like that.

Well deserved for a guy that gave his all to the team and the community while he was here.

He'll defiantly get a nice ovation at some point tonight and will probably be booed when he touches the puck just out of good fun. It was tough to see him leave, but it was probably a good move long term for the Sens. It's great to see he is having success in Nashville. It was really a classy move for Murray to send Fisher to Nashville when he might have had a better deal elsewhere.

He's well loved here, too. From work ethic to overall personality he's a perfect fit for this town. As hard as it must have been to see him go I hope Sens fans know that he's incredibly appreciated in his new home.

He's definitely Class all the way and an excellent all-around player. Glad he's a Pred.

Meanwhile...
110,000 in Michigan Stadium for an NHL hockey game. Wow! That will be incredible. I need haul my butt back up to A2.

This game tonight carries a lot of interest. Not just the Fisher story, but the start of another short eastern road trip for the Preds. These have been mixed bags.

Although the Sens have been struggling lately, and the Preds have played some good hockey even in their losses, I have the feeling this could be one of those buzzsaw games. I hope I'm wrong. But the Sens are going to end their losing streak at some point. And the Preds may think this is the easier of the two games to win...and could fall victim to looking ahead to Boston as another measuring stick game. Not saying that will happen, but I have a strange feeling about it. Hope I'm wrong.

Seems like the Preds kinda do a 50/50 thing on these short roadies. I always hope for 4 points, but it doesn't usually work that way. And you have to figure Lindback might get one start. Not sure about that - but the next week is pretty busy with conference games - so Trotz may try to save Rinne a bit.

Glad to see Fish back in Ottawa. Easily the second most popular sens player in the organizations history. nashville got a hell of a player, and an even better person. I remember when Fish was traded, he took out a full page ad in both major newspapers in ottawa, thanking the fans for all the support they gave him throughout his career. also, his work with CHEO (children's hospital of eastern ontario) was inspiring. class act all the way.

sad that he had to go, but i'm glad that he landed in an organization where the fans seem to appreciate him as much as we did.

I've been waiting a while for this game! Can't wait to welcome back my former favourite Sen, Fisher will definitely be welcomed back with open arms! Easily has to be the fans #2 favourite, behind of course Alfie. He was loved here. I'm glad to see him doing well, and that you Preds fans seem to feel the same way !

So why isn't Lindback starting against our Eastern Conference opponent tonight? Ottawa not elite enough?

Attendance for that game is guaranteed awesome. I'm not so sure the ratings will be though. I hope so. If not, it'll be a long time before we see another Canadian team in the Winter Classic.

I said it the day you guys acquired him on this blog... if you don't love Mike Fisher, you don't love hockey. He'll get a roof raising amount of cheers (probably a lot of high pitched cheers if you know what I mean). Great guy in general. I'm glad he is doing well in Nashville.

He's a really good guy, very humble, very soft-spoken, and very gracious. I'm so happy for him and the Ottawa fans that he gets to go home tonight. Treat him well. He still loves that city.

We've been trained for so long that our expectations are so low - whats there to be nervous about? If DP can sign a 10 goal 3rd liner?

In most years we're sweating whether the Preds will even make it to the post-season. Baring an epic implosion that doesn't seem to be a concern this year thus leaving all that untapped angst free to focus in solely on the trade deadline.

It's a little refreshing.

Nashville Predators (32-17-4)
They're 12-2-2 against teams in the tough Central Division (Columbus, notwithstanding, of course). "Coach (Barry Trotz) does a great job preparing us for these games," goalie Pekka Rinne told The Tennessean. "We start to get ready in the meeting room and then we get ready mentally." Look for the Preds to get a good scorer at the trade deadline. With their defense, goaltending and team concept, that could be all that's needed for their first Cup. Last week:: 3-2-0

Canadian men scream like girls?

You made that one waaaay too easy.

But, in all seriousness, a guy like Fish deserves all the screams (low or high) he may get. Preds are lucky to have him.

Well... tonight, maybe me
I'm not sure if Nashville has a lady following for him like here in Ottawa, but at the same time, he was married to one of the most beautiful women on the planet when he got there. When he was here, he was single a long time and a gigantic chunk of the ladies here were well aware of it.

There's a lot of female drooling going on here too; being married (either Fish or the droolees) doesn't appear to have an impact on that.

Beware complacency Preds. Every game is more difficult and more important than the last one played.
