I think it largely depends on the current core of a team. For instance, the Canucks are in win now mode, but a younger team could probably use the building scheme to win. Just my two cents.... |

Nash has already said publicly he would waive his NTC if the Jackets thought it was best for the team to trade him but he hoped to stay. If I were CBJ I would try to deal Carter if possible but try to get a goalie in the offseason. Keep Nash, the #1 pick and overpay a goalie or put an offer sheet on Rask AFTER the draft if he's not signed in Boston. CBJ shouldn't care about GM unwritten rules or losing future draft picks after the upcoming one. |

If they trade Nash and Carter and recieve aroun 4 or 5 top end prospects, they have the number one pick in the draft, JUST BUILD YOUR TEAM HOWSON. The guy is a bonehead. He can get a good team in a few years if he just trades away Nash and Carter |
