The third goal was actually Marleau's, not Couture's. The scoring change gave Marleau his second straight game winning goal. He is now second in the league in GWGs with 7.

The shutout streak of 190:51 is a franchise record.

The Sharks were 77% on faceoffs which is the highest percentage by any team since the lockout.

We need all the points we can get right now. With that monster 9-game road trip right around the corner, I don't care who you are you are going to lose some games there. Good thing is that the Kings have almost half of their road schedule remaining. They'll play 20 of 31 remaining games on the road.

Also, I think for the Sharks it will be pretty tough to take advantage of all those games in hand simply because of how tight the schedule is about to get for them. 17 games in 31 days in March? That's pretty much unheard of for the NHL. I can't help but think of all those 6-day breaks we had in October and November and ask whoever is responsible for the creation of this schedule, why are you doing this?
I will be interesting to see how TMac manages the minutes of our core players and see how much Niemi plays.

The Sharks also travel a hell of a lot more than most teams and in many occasions have ended up traveling the most. We also are the team that is furthest away from its minor league affiliate I believe.
