went to the bport game last night...Casey Cizikas continues to impress me in all aspects of his game and he will be pushing for a roster spot if not at the end of this year then surely next season. You guys are going to love this kid...Also Matt Donovan is really coming along and had a gorgeous snipe of a goal last night..I don't think Cizikas will be a scoring stud but what he brings to the table will surely help the islanders

Dee Josh Bailey did a fine job of turning himself into a third liner

Nino should not be skating on the fourth line. First off, even at 19 he's a better player than Rolston is right now, so for the sake of winning now, Nino should be skating with Martin and Bailey on the third line. But more importantly, Nino should be on the third line to help his development. Rolston has no future with the Isles. He's gone after this season (unless Snow does something stupid and re-signs him). Why give Rolston more minutes than a kid who's going to be part of the team's future? It makes no sense, especially with Rolston contributing nothing to the scoresheet.

Nino should be on the third line. Bury Rolston with Pandolfo and Wallace (and Reasoner when he gets back). Better yet, waive Rolston and call Ullstrom back up to the big team.

Cool, thanks for the update. I've read some good things about Donovan recently...don't remember where though. You should write blogs in the "My HockeyBuzz" section here about B-port. You're pretty much our official AHL correspondent anyway.

Disappointing. He has the size and mobility. Is it lack of heart, brains, or both?

Rolston should be dropped off your team. He doesn't even have the hockey sense left to be an effective AHL player. Nino and Bailey impressed me in the home and home, JT was obviously the most impressive guys on your team, especially since I really wasn't expecting him to have the foot speed he did, but his instincts to drive to the net are fantastic.

Rolston is just terrible though. I swear he'd dump the puck into the corner on a 3 on 0 rush.

I realize that

Mottau, Roloston, Pandolfo, Jurcina, Reese, Parentau, Staois, and more will be gone at the end of the year.

WIth this available money in the free agent pool, Would Isles get someone at all?

Trade:

Staois
Nabakov
Streit
Parentau

Stupid question but would u trade okposo for Cammarelli?

No, he'd pull up at the blue line and shoot wide. Jt's skating and strength this season is an amazing improvement. At 21 this kid gets it and will be top 3 in scoring next season barring injury

Funny you guys notice it in just watching him two games. Isles coaches have not. We all notice here from day one.

Injury to Rolston is only thing isles fans can count on. As long as he healthy, his salary earns him top line mins.

Nino probably could have about 4-5 goals now playing with bailey in last few weeks.

Never. And I wouldn't trade Streit; he may not be a #1 D-man anymore at 33/34 years old but he's still effective, a good leader and only makes $4M a year. I'd keep him. I'd also look into re-signing Parenteau because he's proven he can be a top six or top nine option for this team going forward. And as great as guys like Kabanov, Petrov, etc. might be, Parenteau is already on pace for 70+ points this season. Lock him up. If the Islanders stay scorching hot and the playoffs become realistic, I'd keep Nabokov; otherwise, I'd only trade him if the Islanders got something decent back. I wouldn't just dump him. Staios, the islanders will never get anything for, so they can just waive him with Rolston and Pandolfo.

The only time Rolston has come close to a shot on net all year with his slap shot was in practice. He hit DP in the facemask and concussed him.. shocker.

Trade Nabby unless he signs an extension.. islanders can not afford to keep Anything or Anyone that would bring value if they cannot get them to sign extensions.

Sign PA to an extension.... or trade him for the same reasons. I like PA but get him to sign on the line which is dotted or ship him for something.

Franz... same as the other 2.

Trade Jurcina and Eaton while they are playing not terrible too.

I would not trade streit unless it was really worth something.

Take all the picks and crap u get for these guys and make a God Foresaken trade already for a top tier D-man. We have proven that no UFA is going to come to this sht show even if you pay them more friggin money. Go get one that is already signed for a long term deal on a team that is struggling.

Hey guys been real sick these last few days and even those game sagainst Toronto were a referees bad joke I still feel the Islanders have turned the corner a little. They are playing with a little more oomph and just seem to be getting it. that being said no way the Islanders make a trade. Garth will get picks for whomever he trades. Since the team is doing decent I am sure Wang and snow are fine with that.

Rolston is my hero this year just for that

I would keep Rolston around next year just for pre season and have him do it again

No way Rolston hits the net twice in one year. And this may sound crazy but I prefer DP over Rolston.
