Leave it to you Richardie.

Nobody from anywhere outside Bruinland gives a flying turd. Hell, most of us are yawning. No other 'writer' aside from Ty has touched it, nobody cares. But you...

Still can't let it go.

Richard Richard Richard.

" Old aunty so and so dies. You didn't like her when you were growing up. Why? Because he bright red lipstick and hairy upper lip scared the crap out of you. She smelled funny. She bossed you around and told you how much better her kids were to you. But now she's dead, and your mom is on the phone asking you to go to the funeral. Do you go? Yes, of course you do. Why? Because she meant something to your mom. Sometimes loyalty to family comes before anything else. So does a sense of honor, a belief in tradition, and pride. "

Somebody dying is completely different than having lunch with a guy that so many people in the US vehemently despise.

Ovechkin said two weeks ago he didn't want to go to the ASG because he had a holiday planned.

I have a differing opinion than you and I respect you're right to voice your opinion, I'll just say this: if you meant to imply that anything about this makes Tim Thomas unpatriotic, than that implication shows a lack of reasoning. If you didn't mean to imply that, than just know that's the way it comes off and that a poopstorm shall surely follow.

You probably already knew that though.

And one more item. Ovechkin is the league's most marketable asset WITH Crosby playing.

Big deal if Thomas didn't go to the White House. He didn't cause a riot about it. He posted a statement and said he wouldn't talk about it any more. No one will remember the so called "snub" in a weeks time. It wasn't a right or wrong decision, it was his decision. The White House visit is a joke anyway really. Have a team full of Canadians and a few Euros get congratulated by an American guy who probably didn't even watch the finals.

If Ovi skips the All-Star game, his label as the "most marketed" NHLer should go in the toilet. If you aren't going to play like a superstar at least act like one when you are called upon.

This trade deadline will be slow in terms of big name trades I think. There will be lots of little trades I do believe however. Last year was a similar deal, not a lot of block busters, but a lot of trades actually occurred.

As for Thomas I could careless. Most people talk like the leaders of our cites/states/provinces/countries are (frank)ing retards and hate them. So finally someone mans up and doesn't want to go and it's a shock? I guess he could've went and left an upper decker for obama.

Actually, I'm old. The fact I understand respect for those who lead demonstrates that. I work with teens and young adults daily in my "real" work, and they have absolutely no sense of loyalty or understanding of the value of tradition. Our society, while I won't say it's crumbling, is moving into a very dark place where loyalty to anyone other than yourself is looked down on. As one of my friends says all the time, "if you don't believe in something, you don't stand for anything."

Everyone knows the Oilers will win easy tonight... no need to cover that.

You may have missed the memo: The Oilers are the 29th placed team in the league, and the regular season has no meaning anymore.

As far as the Canucks/Oilers game goes, here's my thoughts:

- Hall and Eberle better not get injured

- Hemsky better start scoring points if we're ever going to deal him

- I hope the Canucks don't blow 6 or more goals by Dubnyk because I'd like to see him gain confidence going into next season.

So you won't be writing about hockey for the rest of the season...you'll be concentrating on side issues?

Maybe to a percentage of the hockey population, but I would guess not to most. At least he could have mixed some of the Oilers into the blog....no?

He's hanging on to the Nucks for dear life. This was done for your fanbase. And your fanbase couldn't care less.
