Aaron Musick: Stefan Elliott: struggling or over his head?
Should he stay or should he go?

I like the idea of giving Barrie a try at the NHL level, although I admittedly don't know how he's performing in the minors.

Re trades, is Colorado actively looking to make some changes for the playoff run or is the feeling more of a stay the course approach?

Who would you rather have on the ice? Hejda?

Elliott has some growing to do, for sure. But I'd rather give him NHL experience than AHL experience.

As for trades...I'm not sure trading Jones is a good idea right now simply because his value has to be very low at the moment. But I guess if a good deal is out there, you gotta take it, right?

Coach Sacco can really make a statement here - GM Sherman signed Hejda to a four year deal, and traded a 1st and 2nd for Semyon. Basically the message he can send to his players is perform WELL or sit and watch - Hejda has been around long enough to know he's gotta play better than he has - if he's hurt so be it, take yourself out. Semyon is young and may have to watch the rest of the year and learn from Jiggy, but the coach is paid to win games and not worry about egos - so yeah, if Elliot, in the Coach's eyes is better, than he has to go with a lineup that gives him the best chance to win ! !

Right, and to be honest, Varlamov has been mostly good. It's only a few really bad games that have cost him. Once he develops more consistency, he should be a top flight NHL goalie.

I wouldn't trade Jones. He is our only big body since we got rid of Stewart. Be patient. We can't panic if someone is not playing as well as they did before. That leads to bad trades.

Jones hasn't been playing well so he isnt going to get ice time. I wouldn't jump to conclusions. A trade could still happen though. For Elliot its difficult to say though with whats the best plan for development. I say just make him the 7th defenseman.

As is the case with Stasny, I think Jones needs to shoot more...he has the highest shot percentage on the team, but is getting off less than 2 per game
