Trap game, the islanders may be due. The flyers better be ready to play.

I understand full well why Bob is getting the start, but personally think it should be Bryz. He got stronger as the game went along against the wild... Would have really liked to see him right back in net again.

As would I. Let him build off the win and get more confidence.

At least Laviolette isn't going by the numbers...

It isn't official that Bobrovsky is starting but I think there's a chance that Bryzgalov gets both ends of the back-to-back games over the weekend plus Bob has played two outstanding games against the Islanders.

It totally makes sense to go with Bobrovsky tonight.

I think tonight is the night that the G Unit breaks their recent slump. They were close a few times against Minnesota.

if bob plays tonight its obvious there trying to pad his stats for a higher trade value, bryz is supposed to be the horse, had his best game in weeks against the wild.

i like lavvy but his goalie handling skills have been utterly disasterious

The Caps went after Bork last night and Bork tuned up the Cap but they did win the game.

Going after a fairly tough 6/7th dman really doesn't do much for you IMO.

What I would do is just hammer the snot out the Isles. Beat them badly on the scoreboard and take a few really hard clean runs at Tavares and keep yapping that it's payback for Staois.

Don't do anything dumb, just really smart hard hitting hockey and destroy them and smirk.

You know what? I don't think it does. The only argument for Bobrovsky is that he played well against the Isles for the past 1 and 2/3's games.

Do you really want to make your high-priced goalie who is struggling to find his game go back-to-back against the Devils (a mere 4 points behind the Flyers and winners of 7 of the their last 10) and the Bruins (arguably the best team in the league)?? No.

Bryz was solid against Minn. Let him have the Islanders and hope he plays well and is able to be fresh and take two solid performances into the game against the Bruins on Sunday.

What do Bob's detractors say as soon as you point out Bobrovsky's good play this season? They say he's done it against the dregs of the league. A start against the Isles won't help that. Give Bob the Devils and let him prove his recent numbers are furreal.

Bryz tonight, Bob Sat, Bryz Sunday. It has to be. But if there is a bad decision to be made regarding the goaltending Lavy will make it (his one flaw - I love him otherwise).

It has zero to do with trade value of anybody. It has to do with having 3 games in 4 days, including a back to back on the weekend. Your backup has to play at some point. And with Bobrovsky's success against the Islanders, he's a goo choice for tonight.

Who has been a Bob detractor? Most people that point out Bob's numbers have been against lesser teams do so with a call for him to start getting games against better teams.

I could care less what the Bob detractors say about him. I care about what's best for the team and winning. Based on Laviolette's recent comments about Bryzgalov being brought here to be the horse, you play Bobrovsky tonight, since he is the back up. And Bryzgalov get's both over the weekend.
This idea that Laviolette makes poor decisions choosing goaltenders, and is a weakness of his, is a myth.

They did score two goals (counting Timonen's goal) last game and had a ton of chances. I thought there was progress in Nashville (without reward) and the next step was taken in the Minnesota game. I expect the line to get at least one goal tonight.

How he handled the playoffs last year would give me pause on agreeing with that.

Does Bob have any detractors?

After thinking a bit on tonight, with Bobs success against the Icelanders, 4 games in 6 nights, 3 in 4 nights, it DOES make sense to start Bob today and Bryz for both tilts this weekend.

You cant deny that Bob owns the Icelanders, And give Bryz the last two before the break.

Starting Bob tonight, with Bryz getting both of the back to backs is sensible. Personally, I'd like to see Bob get one of the two weekend games, but going with Bob now and Bryz back to back is hardly a horrible call.

I have certainly spoken to people who make the case for Bryz by pointing out who Bob has played HOWEVER - it doesn't matter because either way we are making the same point. Bob needs to play better quality teams. He should get the Devils not the Isles.

No its not a horrible call, and what swayed me was Bobs ridiculous record against the Icelanders.

Bryz gets the Debbies and the Broons. And hopefully he gets on some kind of confidence roll heading in to the break. I don't think the actual break will hurt him because I think his struggles are all mental. He finishes strong, gets a break for the All Farce Game, then comes back ready to carry the load......

That is how I envision it!

So let it be written, So let it be done!

I say put them both in net and alternate them at the 10 min mark of each period. This way they both can get amble playing time and both camps (Team Universe vs. Team Bob) can go home happy.
