Although I can't fault the guy for getting excited (Dolan), you should never say anything like that to the media here in NYC. That's just asking for repercussions. If/when the Rangers don't make it, Larry Brooks & everyone else will be rubbing it in his face, that is if he's willing to show it. A Blues/Rangers Stanley Cup actually looks like a possibility this year. THAT would be F$%*ing amazing. |

I agree. Dolan normally could care less about the Rangers, but now that they are dominating he rears his ugly heard and makes a stupid comment. And a blues rangers final would be awesome. it would probably be an incredibly physical series |

Dolan was a dork in saying that, but Torts should not have said BS. At all.
Jan, if you have a job...would you say that your boss, the one that is paying your salary, is saying a bunch of BS in the office in front of coworkers?
I think you'd be fired the next minute. |

It was tongue in check from Tortorella and I'm sure Dolans smart enough to realize nothings a given and Torts is just being logical. Thank god he's not the Rex Ryan of the NHL. |

Sather should have been fired for his performance running the team from 2000 until the lockout, and the Redden contract should have been the final bullet.
But, amazingly, Dolan's lifetime contract with Sather has actually paid off and the entire organization from top to bottom is as healthy and running like a machine more than any other time since the early 90's.
It's never been the most stabile organization, lets face it.
The early 80's when Craig Patrick and Herb Brooks were running things for a few years was probably the most stable, but even that didn't last very long.
We could very well be in the midst of a Rangers Golden era right now and don't even know it. |

Yep.....but another lockout seems to be on the horizon which could bring more possible rule changes that will frank up the solid Ranger system/foundation they built. |

I think two things are predicted with the new CBA that are pretty well a given.
One, no more dumping NHL contracts in the AHL to hide them from the cap.
two, another amnesty period to buyout bad contracts.
I think Redden will be bought out with the amnesty and there will be no cap hit, and I think Sather has finally "gotten it" when it comes to these bad free agent signings.

With this whole concusion epidemic going on I can see the players taking a harder stance on their salaries....This is all my opinion but I can see the NHL making some type of changes to the game to help lower the risk. Increase Ice size? Bring back red line? The Rangers are a dominat team on the boards, I just hope the league doesn't frank with this game. |

I have one episode left. I didn't think it was my kind of thing. But my sister is really into it so since I had HBO for 24/7 I decided to watch. I watched the first 8 episodes in 2 days. The ninth on Monday. One to go and I'm thinking I may keep HBO now, until season 2 is over, instead of canceling now that 24/7 is over. It's pretty brutal. But it feels more medieval than fantasy. Universal tales told well.
Who's at Tuesday's game? I'm popping up to see a game when it's not the Flyers. So if you see a dumpy middle-aged blond in a Lindros blue liberty, it may be me. Say hi. |

Also yea I heard great things about Game of Thrones and with Season 2 starting in April I guess now is the time. Although I don't think I have the time you do, 8 hour long episodes in 2 days is pretty crazy |

I would be shocked if there was another lockout (effecting the regular season), as it would be absolutely stupid for all parties involved to do so. IMO, if you can count on one thing in life, it's that people self interests will lead to a certain event. Unlike in 2004, when the owners were willing to go the mattress because the then system was killing them, times are much better for the NHL today. The league is filling its arenas at 95% capacity, it just signed an incredibly lucrative deal with NBC, and its actually got some positive momentum in becoming more popular. Both sides realise that, and aren't going to kill that momentum by locking out.
As to rules changes, I am not sure what would be done to screw the Rangers. The Rangers are actually pretty solidly built right now, and with the exception of the Redden contract buried in the minors, there is nothing that really concerns me specifically with the Rangers in negotiating a new CBA. And even if they prevented moves like Redden from happening in the new CBA, I am assuming that Redden's contract would be grandfathered in. |
