I will be at the game Saturday when they commemerate Pat Flately but to be honest, growing up, he was probably my least favorite Islander.

Yeah could not stand him and then he went to the Rangers. Right there is a reason not to out him in the Hall of Fame but they induct almost everyone. In fact I think I should be in the Islander Hall of Fame as the guy who complains alot about them.

As for the game, I thought the Islanders looked good, unfortuantely Grabner still does not know how to bury a break away. It looks more and more though that Tavares is getting frustrated and that is not a good sign.

Nabby should sit after giving up 2 bad goals. I will say this about the team though, they do look a lot better lately and I do feel we are on the cusp of competeing in this league. The guys are playing together and show some energy. Hopefully it stays

Grabner's backhander was spectacular. He just needs to fake the shot first to freeze the goalie. Even without the fake shot it took one heck of a save by Bob. The penalty shot he just put it into his waffle... He needs to get better at this or we have another Claude Lapoint on our hands.

LOL yeah he was just as bad but Iw ill say this though I did like him as a player. He wa awesome penalty killer and did his job. I dont know I see this team as gelling a lot better and playing a lot better. We should have won that game last night. I just hope they come out with the same intensity Saturday.

Also they were very physical last night and when they are they are on their game. Best hit of the night was grandpa Staois laying out Mr. Talbot. That was classic and then after the game yelling at the Islanders like I am going to get you back. I dont know if he remembers last year when he tried that and he was turtling on the ice but this should be good going forward

That is SO not true. 13 years with the team, a home grown talent drafted in the first round. 488 points, former capt, one of the best players this team has ever seen along the boards. Flats was one great Islander.

Talbott is such a dirty player. He will board someone the next game. My favorite is how he was laying on the ice like he was hurt. He still did not get the call so he got up. I was at the game yelling "When did the Broadstreet bullies start playing soccer?" They were flopping all over the ice.. joke.

I loved Claude.. but if he could score on a break away he would of had 40 a year.

you guys probably deserved better last night, but bob was outstanding. he made the save on the penalty shot precisely because he didn't butterfly first. he challenged, stayed on his feet and stopped the puck. it's a huge improvement for him compared to his rookie season on breakaways/penalty shots.

nabby was really good, too, except for the 2nd goal. tough night for him. first regulation loss to the flyers in his career. was going to happen some time.

talbot hasn't thrown anything close to being a dirty hit in a flyers uniform. can't speak to his actions in a pen's sweater, though.

the isles did a bit of flopping themselves last night, too.

Theres been plenty more besides last night but its part of the game unfortunately. You have to find a way to win no matter whats going on with officiating...

I hate Talbot as much as anyone, but I think Staios came up high on the hit (hard to tell since the broadcast only showed replays that looked like the camera was stationed on Mars). He'll probably get a couple of games for it, but Reese is probably an upgrade anyway...

Not for nothing but the second time Grabner got hooked he did do a great flop job. At least he can do that correctly

I dont think he is going to get suspended to be honest. The hit looked pretty clean and he hit him just below the neck, plus no injury. I do wonder though the refs got together and were talking about so who knows. We are the Islanders so he might

To me, again going by the distant camera angle they showed, the initial point of contact appeared to be the head, and with a forearm. If that's the case, I think it's automatic, regardless of injury.

edit - if someone has a better angle that shows the hit wasn't as high as it looked to me, then I take it back and agree there won't be a suspension.
