Can't see Ottawa going out of their way for revenge on Wolski. A lot of time has passed since then and this is a very important game for both teams. I do think Wolski will get chirped a heck of a lot however.

Sucks Hagelin didn't make the rookie team. I think he could have won fastest skater

Exactly...Ottawa is playing solid hockey right now and is 5th in the standings I believe. They have 2 points to worry about rather than some healthy scratch player

we don't care if you guys put him out for the season, his salary on permanent IR would be fine.

And, give us plenty of powerplays tonight please.

The comment about Ottawa's all-stars is confusing. You're good with Karlsson and Michalek, but seem to imply that Spezza and Alfredsson you're not good with. Spezza is currently 11th in the scoring race, while Alfredsson has more points than Michalek (in less games played). If anything, Michalek is the guy that's least deserving.

Sather is making the right choice by not placing avery on re-entry waivers. keep that space open for the deadline and possibly bringing in someone that can help us make a deep run Can't avery just walk away from the remaining few months and become a UFA?

Michalek has 22 goals and thought he would be elected as a starter. Is Spezza more deserving than Malkin or Stamkos as a starter? Is Alfredsson more deserving than Kessel or Lupul? That's what I meant. Thought they would get in, just others more deserving as starters, not that the distinction really matters that much.

Remember his actually salary is $3.9 million. Would you walk away from the remaining $2 million on that contract, if there is no guarantee that anyone else would even sign you, much less for anywhere near the approximately $2 million owed?

Yea he says he wants a chance to prove himself, but Avery got his big contract. He ain't gonna just walk away from a gauranteed 2 mil. I don't see any more big paydays on the horizon for him. I agree.

Sucker punch?

Anything to get rid of Wolski, as long as no one else gets hurt.

While each of the four have arguments for being named to the team, the fact they were elected starters had everything to do with Ottawa fans stuffing the ballots because the game is in Ottawa. Hey, whatever, not a big deal. Did all four deserve to be starters? No. Does it matter that much? Again, no. Every year there are many players that had a case for all-star selection but get snubbed. This year is no different. In fact, I'd almost rather have none of our guys play just so they can avoid even the remotest chance of injuring themselves.

Although this year is nice cause around the All-Star game the Rangers have a full week off between games. So even the players going will still have plenty of time to rest

Good point, honestly if the game was in new York I'm sure you would have four ranger starters. It's not a big deal IMO.

Neither have the Sens lately.

Sens are 7-1-2 in the last 10

Rangers are 9-1-0 in the last 10

Should be a good game.

If that team wanted him badly enough, they should have picked up the full contract on the way down. No reason NYR should be stuck with half the hit. Let him rot.

And I don't think he can just walk away. He'd have to officially retire (releasing NYR from hit), but then he can't play elsewhere in the NHL or NYR would have to buy him out (and doesn't he end up exposed to waivers again for that? not sure what the cap connotations are there).

Or re-entry waivers earlier in the year. They can trade for him if they want him that badly.
