Last time we tried this resting thing it didn't work. Either way, its nice to finally be able to be comfortable with whoever is in the net. I think this is really allowing the guys in front to play a little more freely, knowing that there is help in the net if a mistake is made.

Wasn't the last time the Chicago game? And didn't Roloson win us that game?

Anyways I hope Gagner doesn't go. I don't see any point in it, he has already proven he can dominate at the junior level, why send him to do more. I say keep him with the club, let the juniors play in the world juniors.

When did they call Deslauries up, didn't they keep Rollie at home and he lost?

They called up him up for a Van game, sent Rolie home to rest up for Min game at home in which he lost...he ALWAYS loses against his former team, MacT should know better and put Garon in net whenever we play them.

Hey Dan, any word on why Riley Nash and Alex Plante were left off the World Juniors List? Riley's had a good start for cornell and i know they mentioned keeping an eye on him.

I believe Plante was injuried and it sounds like he hasn't played all that well this year.

I will be extremely pissed if Gagner goes to the World Juniors. I know he is of Junior age but he is a pro hockey player, that at this point of the season is needed more than ever.

Lowe do the right thing and just say no...

With all our injuries, I don't think we can afford to have him out of the lineup. I could see if he was playing poorly, but he isn't.

Someone has to sit when Moreau gets back, and it isn't like someone in the A couldn't fill in for a few weeks either. Getting a chance to dominate and get some confidence wouldn't hurt Gagner at all IMO....he isn't tearing up the NHL.

I would like to see Gagner go to the WJC. No argument that he is playing O.K. but this is a premier event and the ice time and level of competition would not hurt his development. I believe the level of success he would enjoy at this tournament would give him a great confidence boost as well. The time he is absent from the lineup would not negatively impact the Oilers and would also allow development time for other players.

I don't mind Gagner going over, however it would be terrible if he got hurt there.

There's more chance of getting hurt in the NHL than in a junoir tourney I would think....he's been hit pretty hard a few times

i agree, he is getting points but is invisible most times, hopefully a good tournament will build his confidence.

What happens if he goes and doesn't dominate and plays down to the level of the other juniors. Everyone will be on him and then what does that do to his confidence. I see the argument but think he would be better off getting some rest. Either way great to see the team turning it around.

So you just want him to not play anywhere?

I still would rather have Moreau instead of Stortini. Stortini hasn't been horrible, but he's still terribly slow, and this team doesn't seem to mind not fighting. moreau brings a more physical element then Storitni, so I hope he gets the third line spot, and if MacT wants Stortini in the lineup because he tries so hard in practice, then put him on the fourth line like he should be and play him no more then 10 minutes a game. With Sanderson out, play him on the fourth line and have him there to fight if needed.

Stortini may not be the greatest, but lets see. Torres and Stoll are both playing better now, opposing teams are go after him thus taking penalties and wait for it, can be credited with helping with the game winner last night. His not exactly the easiest player to watch, but he is bringing a type of game that no one else can.

I agree, I think he's bringing a lot more to the team. He seems to be playing more of an agitator then enforcers role and it's working. He's been drawing some penalties rather then just taking them. Good job Stortini

Stoll and Torres are playing better, but no thanks to Stortini. The play always dies with him, with the occasionaly exception which is few and far between. Stortini does stir it up, which is the role of an 8 minute a night guy not a 10+ guy. Moreau in that spot will bring more to the table physically in forechecking and hitting, and not to mention Moreau has more offensive ability (which isn't saying too much). the most frustrating thing to me about Stortini is that he never hits. he tries, but almost always misses, and then is out of position. I like what Stortini can bring, but I think he is terribly miscast as a 3rd liner, and him being on that line only hurts the potential offense of Stoll and Torres.

Agreed. One could argue that the Super Series helped him make the Oilers this year. He'd get lots of ice, that's for sure.

Finally... a couple of people are starting to figure it out! Edmonton has needed a pest for a while and he seems to be evolving in that role.
