Honestly, no one on this squad should be untouchable for the right price. If you can trade Gretzky, you can move anyone of these potatoes.

Did anyone expect this team to go on a cup run with Cizkas and Fashing on top 2 lines and a aging core? Time to move on from Cullterbuck ,Martin , Wally , Aho , Burtuzzo and try and trade Pageau ( nobody is taking Lee's contract). Team is unwatchable .

Sad but true, the team will have to eat some salary to move people. And I am not talking about 30% to 40% to make magic. I am talking north of 50%.

This team could make some adjustments and be playoff contenders next year depending on what kind of magic can be done at the draft and UFA. Some help will come in the forms of addition by subtraction.

The future is not dark, it is cloudy. How the organization handles this off season will depend on how much sunlight comes in.

I have also thought about the whole Sorokin thing. Why I think it has a lot to do with confidence. Could he be injured? Whatever the issues are they have 5 months to get him right.

Nelson and Palms should have value. Maybe JGP. Lee would need to be bought out. This is a very important offseason. Lou has to do right by the team.

I think Sorokin will be fine. I'm not sure if he is being coached differently. I thought someone might have mentioned it on the board. I'm not sure if he played too many games. Team should have played Varly more. They gave him a 4-year contract.

Yeah they needed to do that two years ago. If they did we would be actually competing with the Canes instead of getting run over.

Ownership needs to relieve Lou of his position as early as tonight. Although he has brought respect back to the organization, he is asleep at the wheel and his style is archaic.

Yeah I’m not really sure what magic you could be referring too. Lou has painted this team in a corner with bad contracts. Other then trading Nelson and or Palmieri, losing Clutter and Martin on expiring contracts I’m not really sure what could be done. I say this fully knowing that Lou will not trade either Nelson or Palmieri btw.

I can’t imagine any UFA’s lining up to be part of the Minnesota Wild east. He’s going to add whatever he can to the lineup and throw the same sh!t at the wall next season. That’s what he has done his entire career at this stage of his tenure with clubs. I certainly don’t expect it to be any different with us.

Sucks he’s going out like this but he’ll get a Cush job with the organization which is well deserved imo. He’s a good dude.

Perfect timing in what’s being labeled as one of the worst drafts in the past couple of decades. That’s after last years which was considered one of the best since 2003. TIMING

This is why ownership needs to step in. It would be madness not to re-tool this offseason. Roy has to be the voice of reason.

I agree. Regarding today, I would play Ruslan, Holmstrom, and Bolduc. Give a different look even if it does not change anything.

Yep, I hope he does. He's a class act and would be a good spokesman for the franchise. I just don't want him on the ice.

The time to retool was before signing Horvat, mayfield, and Engvall. Other then moving Palmieri and Nelson to maybe get some picks in this weak draft there’s really no way of doing a “retool” that’s going to realistically help this team. That’s just the harsh reality of what Lou has done and will continue to do to this team by over committing to this stale roster. It’s undeniably terrible management.

I say that while acknowledging the positive he has done as well but I think it’s pretty obvious that time has passed.

Some nice shifts early, in particular by the Pageau-Lee-Engvall line. They did everything but score.
Edit: And Lee takes a penalty
Edit 2: And the incompetent PK comes thru again.
