Great blog as always, Jan. I am hopeful the Rangers will make easy work out of the Caps, but not counting the chickens yet.

From the prior blog, lets see if this works:

All the wings did was guarantee Washington the spot
- picklerick

I have no idea what you mean here unless you mistyped and meant Flyers instead of Wings. But even so, what would you have done in that situation?Yes they gave an easy win to the Caps in that situation, but they needed to do what they could to win in regulation.

There Is no bigger superstar in the NHL than Ovechkin
- Greschnergy#4

Fully disagree. Not saying Ovie doesn't have anything left in the tank, but he isn't even a top 20 player in the league anymore.

I am an optimistic Ranger’s fan who also believes they will win the series, but you folks are taking Ovechkin and the Caps way too lightly. He scored 50 goals two seasons ago, 42 goals last season and had a down season this year and still managed over 30 goals on his way to being the all-time leader in goals

I wonder if Washington wishes they had Anthony Mantha instead of Vegas 2nd round draft pick right about now

We got a team that sold at the deadline and the worst playoff team of all 16 teams as reward for winning Prez trophy

No excuses. This should not have to go 7 games.

I don’t think anyone is taking them lightly. Believe all think the Rangers should win, but history shows, never take any opponent lightly

No matter how many games will be played, WSH will make their presence felt physically. I think Rempe has to be in the lineup game 1 and see how it goes from there.

The fact that they gave away Mantha is huge. It’s really a huge break for us.

Rempe is a double edged sword. He no doubt brings energy and a spark to the Garden and the players. However, hes like a great dane on roller skates out there.

Why I said play him game 1 and see how it goes from there. Wilson is the type of player that knows who’s on the other side of the ice. If he has no one to challenge him, he’ll he a freight train all game. If there’s someone to challenge him he plays completely different, he’s a punk.

I’d imagine Wilson will be on his best behavior because our PP can singlehandedly win the series. If he wants to be a doosh go ahead

Definitely makes it easier. But, where I usually feel Mantha disappears for stretches, it's Oshie that really concerns me. He is way too clutch and physical.
That being said, this should be a manageable series and the best match up we could have asked for, out of the teams that made it.

Detroit would’ve had some moxy so I’m glad they missed. That Perron goal was nuts damn near at the buzzer

Kane missed the playoffs

I’m more concerned, it’s game 1 and we’re up 4-1 with 2 minutes left. Wilson goes out there with the sole purpose of hurting someone. That final 2 minutes when Wilson is out there we need Rempe out there. That’s more my thought process of it.

It's playoff hockey now, he' a mope but he is effective for the inevitable last min or 2 shennanigans if the Caps wanna roll that way

I meant the wings because at the time I typed it they had gotten the game to overtime, knocking the flyers out of the race.

it's the guys that are fiercely loyal to their internet opinions, like one guy is about hating Panarin, that are the silly ones

I can’t ever tell if this guy says this stuff for engagement bait or if he’s truly just a moron. My guess is a little of both.

Ya lazarus is not a serious nhl reporter. He does hits on nhl network and radio shows and stuff, but doesn't really know what he's talking about.
