Rumors of my demise, or imminent departure from Tampa, are greatly exagerated.
Riding out the season is in the best interest for Stamkos and the Lightning. There is a reason they remain competitive year after year.
The key is the salary cap. How much it goes up. The other wildcard is the young players stepping forward.
In the end, a successful playoff run and solid season means the window is still there for the lighting. They are not going to do like pittsburg and commit crazy salaries and term for guys over 35 and run the team into a rebuild.
