Carry over from last thread:

1. The Bruins aren't mediocre.

Gryz did have a poop series against the Islanders a few years back but he was also playing through injury. I've also said it before, Gryz is at his worse when he is being plugged in and out of the lineup. I guess that is a weakness, same with durability.

At the end of the day, if your opinion on a player is negative, your going to focus on negative plays. I do it with JVR and Shattenkirk but i will continue to defend Gryz's ability to defend. Massively underrated. I want him in the playoff line up and playing real minutes. The less he plays the greater the burden is on Lindholm and he has been off.

The topic was "Gryz has been awful". He hasn't. He has been very good.

For one, context is everything. Gryz is mediocre, not the bruins. He can't play nearly as well unless it's with McAvoy. That says enough for me.

There are plenty of negatives to go around despite the great record. Shats and JVR are good examples. However this topic was on gryz specifically and changing the topic to other players doesn't change the fact that gryz is, at best, a C+ d man. Sorry if you don't like that. Has be been F-, but I would rather see someone else like Lohrei develop than see a second more of gryz.

Just because other players haven't been playing that great either is not a valid defense in support or someone who at the end of the day is completely replaceable.

We can agree to disagree, Your never going to convince me that he is a C+ hockey player and only he can change the way he is perceived.

I want the Bruins to win games when it matters. I think Gryz provides our best chance behind Lindholm. I am completely fine with Lohrei getting that spot next year but I don't know if he's ready right now. He has both great and shaky moments. He will see some action based on matchups I am sure.

Here is to hoping they both put on a show.

Hope you're right man. Agree to disagree on the player.

Moving on, I am torn who I want to see most in round 1. I think Toronto would be fun.

Probably should root for the rangers to lose a few. Feels like a big drop off from Tampa to wash/nyi/detroit. Tampa is looking good right now.

TB could move up out of that wild card spot depending on if they continue their trend and if another team mails it in going forward.

They are playing their best hockey of the season at an opportune time.

Bruins don't have the easiest schedule to end the season. Tampa, like Florida last year, seems to be ending their season on the right foot. Any team going into the post season on a hot streak isn't going to be an ideal matchup.

Last game against Toronto was a lot of fun to watch. Fast paced, chippy and kept me on the edge of my seat. Only reason I would want them. I think any matchup goes at least 5-6 games to be honest.

If this team goes far, it will be because they slugged it out with their opponents and out-slugged them. Going to be back and forth no matter what. I don't expect any sweeps.

wildcard race is nuts too, could go many ways. Flyers giving it away, and caps suddenly on fire...

I hope Sam Bennett blows both ACLs walking into the rink. Piece of poop.
