"- David Pasrtrnak's 200-foot game has been phenomenal of late. I hope it's not going unnoticed by those who constantly harp on his giveaways.

its been noticed, I'm totally one who harped on his giveaways.

I really want to call Felger and Mazz so I can tell Felger how much he absolutely sucks at life. All the way down to the molecular he absolutely sucks, and I hope he steps on a lego barefoot. The amount of poop he has been talking about Pasta is ridiculous. Ripping Pasta with HamPUSS and Gryz right there for the ripping. (frank)ing wiener.

I would love to know what you determine or see when you watch to call him awful.

(Insert undersized comment)

He was on the ice for TWO goals against at even strength in the MONTH of March. TWO! So i disagree with "he's been awful"

Gryz 2 GA (12 games)
Carlo 15 GA (14 games)
McAvoy 13 GA (14 games)
Peeke 4 GA (10 games)
Lindholm 14 (10 games)
Lohrei 8 GA (8 games)
Shattenkirk 7 GA (9 games)

Playing about 20 minutes. Someone explain. Or is he awful because we are looking at points on the box score?

Just saw the projected lineup for tonight. WTF is Monty doing??? This is worse than a blender...it's putting the lineup in a food processor then a blender followed by a coffee grinder.

The Pasta Zacha Heinen line is the only one un-scathed. I don't hate the forward lines though (minus JVR). Geekie up with Coyle and Marchand.

Monty does this all the time and it's just dumb. I'm sure the players hate it.

I truly doubt they care, as long as they are winning games.

You don't think they'd prefer consistency and some chemistry?

Seems odd to me...

Throughout an 82 game season, every single team alters and mixes lines. It’s only a good thing for players to develop chemistry with more than just one or two players.

It also keeps the lineup from getting stale.

Lines change constantly throughout the course of the game.

I think you overestimate how much this is done by other teams.

I watch a lot of random hockey games.

Kings, Dallas, Toronto, islanders are the only teams that I can think of that maintain pretty consistent top sixes.

Rangers have one line pretty much set in stone.

Carolina is a pretty mixed bag of lines outside of the Staal line. Tampa does the same thing as the Bruins. Vancouver mixes there lines a bit. Same with Vegas, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Colorado. All of these teams have go to lines but tinker.

Some of it is perception vs. reality no doubt. He had a bad start to the season coming off of an injury and unfortunately you cannot put a stat or analytics on being overpowered by bigger players. Yeah he's undersized and I'm not allowing that to be thrown out for a defenseman. The league has changed to a point where forwards are getting away with it but not D. I see it happen often where he loses critical battles to bigger and stronger players particularly in the playoffs.

My issue is you have a clear upgrades now in Lohrei, Peeke, Wotherspoon, and Shattenkirk. You have McAvoy, Lindholm, and Carlo who are all capable of being the powerplay QB. So where does he fit?

He's an OK player but I don't see why he is still on this team come this off season. The Bruins should move on as there are younger, bigger, stronger, and more talented players in the system, Edward, Brunet, and Mitchell for example. Brunet in particular.

Did you really support the Claude Julien method of rolling 4 lines like a conveyor belt? In particular his gross over reliance on the merlot line? I swear Julien was totally adverse to scoring more than 2 goals per game. Absolutely need a goal? Don't put the KIL line out no....roll the (frank)ing merlot line again and again aaaaand again

Monty and lot of more intelligent coaches seek to play match ups and make adjustments rather than be predictable and static. The end result is what is important here.

EDIT: Another example would be Guy Boucher and his 1-3-1 system or Dan Bylsma's obsession with overusing the stretch pass both of which and shockingly the Julien era Bruins made adjustments for and beat. The point is that the successful teams in this league are not sticking to outdated ways of coaching and lineup management and neither should the Bruins.

I actually love him dropping JVR to the 4th line. Guy is trash. I'd heath bomb him all together and bring up Merkulov or somebody capable of more then taking up space.

Of course there needs to be in game adjustments as needed.

That's not the issue. He changes the starting lineups constantly from game to game.

Wasn't Julien coaching Bruins when they won a Cup?

Keep in mind Gryz is basically bottom 6 D so he's getting more sheltered shifts than the other D.

And he's not physical at all - very few hits for a D man and that does not bode well for the playoffs.
