I do not get the obsession with the Crosby point per game thing. I'm perfectly fine with him missing that, in fact I'd probably prefer that, especially if its actually something important to him. Perhaps that is callus, but maybe get something done on the power play if you care that much.

That's a different point of view I kind of respect. He certainly has blame on that PP as well. If it was league average he'd be well over a PPG...and well...not to beat a dead horse... but they'd be in a playoff spot.

You don't want to see him break Gretzky's record? Are you even a Penguins fan?

Agree, he's a bum with no real drive to win. If he can't carry an underacheiving team on his shoulders in his late 30's, he needs to go.

I think Sid is the answer to the problems the Pens have right now They do not have enough depth to ever compete again for any championship. Putting Sid up to play elsewhere would do the trick Teams would be lining up to acquire his services and would pay handsomely for him.
On their present path they cannot turn this around quickly but some insane GM in this league would really overpay to win a championship and Sid would be the key piece in the endeavor. It would help turn this franchise around and give Sid another chance to win a Cup which he will never do here again.
I would love to see what teams would do to get him Think about it A win win situation Sid gets another shot at a Cup and the Pens get needed help to reshape this franchise Who cares about staying with one team. That does not help this franchise moving into the future

I want to see him break the record, definitely don't want him not to like the OP said. However, he does have blame on the pathetic PP. So, I kind of get some or what the PP was saying... I certainly don't get hoping he doesn't, though Hahah

Sure he does, but hoping he doesn't break the record is a joke of a fan.

Big fan, following the team for 35 years now through the good and the bad. No I could care less whether he breaks Gretzky's record. Sid has been the most consistent performer and by most accounts has carried the team. I do not debate that, but bottom line with respect to the PP, its the players out there that need to get it done. Don't talk to me about the coaching or the scheme. He, and a lot of the guys out there have been on that ice for nearly 20 years. Your telling me they can't figure out how to get it done on the PP. I call BS on that. And if he misses that record, it will be because this PP sucks...no other reason.

Of course I don't know the guy, but I wouldn't think that its something that matters all that much to him anyways. Seems like something just the fans care about.

If Sid wants to get traded, he has the protection and clout to basically pick where he wants to go. There will be no bidding war, and they'll get back less then you expect.

Probably less than I expect too given the Guentzel return.

Now if Sid wants to leave, that's his choice and I'll respect it. Just don't expect it to kick off some great rebuild.

Get ready for a bunch of comments from people who don’t get how sports franchise FOs and contracts work saying “it’s a business”.

I see Sid getting what dubas wanted for Jake. A very late round first, an actual good prospect, and prob a weak 2C to replace Sid.

I think Sid finishes his career here. I don't see FSG letting him get away.

The Finnish kid is killing it in the Liiga playoffs. Need to get this guy to the AHL. Could have something there if he can adjust to NA ice and style

You would be surprised at home many contenders would be out there and Sid would not pull a stunt like that idiot Lebron Jerk James did Sid realizes that this is a business and he would be helping the Pens recover I think you underestimate his value in this league

I agree, just saying what I think he’d get. Not gonna jump start a rebuild by any means but it would help.

Are serious? Gretzky probably doesn’t even know how many ppg seasons he had. Crosby doesn’t give a poop about that record.

He left a few weeks ago and was back within days, so doubt it's permanent.

Definitely time for him to make the jump. Since he did for a little bit last year, I'd imagine he will be ready and not hold off like some European players do.

Good for JP. I thought he looked pretty decent before he sat for 6 games.

He might suck but at least he might NOT suck. He should be playing. Pretty fast big body that’s good on the boards is something our bottom six can use

Right. His first games were rough because he couldn't skate. Way better now.
