Happy Birthday, Stevie!

Always enjoy reading your blog, and if you read my responses, you understand I’m a throwback in both hockey, and life in general…..as are you.

Here’s hoping it’s a great birthday, and many more!

PS. Wilson is a rare player who helps his team, and can take of business. However, he is a knucklehead who STILL hasn’t learned to control himself. He needs a long sit. That was just reckless.

Again, enjoy your day my friend!

Hey Stewie!

Great read as always....thanks for the content! Two questions/comments for you....

Will start by saying I am a Leafs fan, so no bashing here, but with the Wilson incident....I am very surprised that I have not heard anyone raise the point that Gregor starts the high sticking by almost jabbing Wilson in the throat with his blade. Both should have had penalties, but I can't help but wonder if that will be part of the defense argument.

Question on instant-replay with off-sides.......is there any rule that would prevent a team from calling off-side on itself? Consider a scenario.....Team A has a 3-on-2 and they go off-side but no call. The play is broken up at the line and Team B immediately sends a man in on a breakaway and scores. Could Team A ask for review to show that THEY were offside immediately before the goal, so the play should have been blown dead?

Cheers!

Once a play continues to where an offside no longer applies, there is no review possible. In your scenario, can't reward a team for going offside by taking an oppoing goal off the board. In a different scenario, can't challenge for purposes of putting added time onto the clock. It's simply a non-call on the offside by Team A, good goal for Team B on the counter.

That's what I saw.

Yes...which obviously should be answered with a golf club swing at his head. Because logic.
