Bout time! Raymond saving Detroit's bacon! Gonna be a big contract to him this summer! Oh, and sign that Kane kid too for a couple more years!

Don’t get me wrong I will take the two points but….
That first period was a hot mess again and that was pretty much against the Blue Jackets AHL squad. These slow starts are inexcusable, and have been going for close to a dozen games. Something is not right with the Red and White. Why not use a time out in the first period to address the bad play on the ice, no emotion from the coach, terrible. This team is so soft it’s like watching a 50 and over league. When was the last time we saw Sider lay someone out? When Raymond is the only guy busting ass, doing the dirty work you have to ask where is everyone else. I am sure that teams love to play against Detroit as they know they won’t get hit and feel it after the game.
I’ll take the W but we won’t make the playoffs this way!

I was at the game and left with 5 minutes to play in the third period. I must have brought them luck when I left.

Yep... I'd say that about sums it up pretty well. These slow starts and getting being down a couple goals are absolutely killing this team. No excuse for not putting in a full 60 minutes every game. They will not make the playoffs with this current style of play. No forecheck except for the 3rd line... that ain't gonna cut it. No defensive structure this team desperately needs. This team has the talent to be much better. The forwards need to step up and learn how to back-check to help out the defensemen. Wish Scotty Bowman was still around.

Yawl can't be happy with a comeback win??? The Wings have over achieved this season, it is all gravy from now on. You sound like EK! He predicted a couple days ago that the Wings only win 2 more games! Well Ek they are already half way to your prediction and have 13 more games to play!

2d & 3d were solid, OT was awesome. GREAT to see the come-back win. WELL DONE. but............

WTH was that 1st period about?!?!? Do that crap vs. NYI, Tronno, TB, etc... and we're luggin' a massive blow-out. The D was a sieve, SOG was a childhood fantasy, shaky across the board. We have GOT to shore up the D.

This game showed that there's a ton of heart on the ice, showed the fans and themselves (most-importantly) that this IS a good team in the aggregate. I loved the 2s, 3d & OT, LOVED them.

Let's hope Larkin is back tomorrow and they play Reimer, and they don't give up 3 breakaways ALL game, let alone in the 1st!

Dude, the break-aways were sickening to watch. Reimer was shaken by it, I think, specially after letting that 1st one go in.

Kills me how easily we dumped all over the ice as soon as Larkin went down......or was it because of the new branding on the sweaters

Oh absolutely. One of the first things I wrote was the “here we go again” feeling. The team was all over the place, coughing up pucks on bad passes etc. the first was a brutal watch

Those breakaways, yeah, unreal how easy it was for them on those. Glad for the win, but the opening period was a mess. I feel you on the branding. Still bothers me

That stick lift by Seider, not a hook, it wasn’t up in the hands or his body on Johnny. That happens on every FO and many other times during a game. Gaudreau got slapped with a 10 min misconduct after the game for crying about “Seider’s interference.”

Johnny Hockey's always been a bit of a drama queen.....the only stick action on the play was him slamming his to the ice when he started stomping his feet like an itinerant child.....

I shut it off before the first period ended, they score two in the second. I turn it back on in the third and Columbus notches another.

..turned it off again.

Turned it back for OT..

God, I'm glad I did. (The Wings have been killing my heart lately.😂)

Amen. With 2 minutes to go in regulation I already had a headline ready that wasn’t very pleasant. I was glad I had to change it!

I'm at about a 50% win-rate watching games & winning vs. listening & losing. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now :|

Walman's still day-to-day. Eddy didn't do too badly last night. Watched him exploit his huge wing-span (not the pre-pre-game, mind you...), to strip the puck a few times. At this point, waive someone and keep Eddy up. Not upset with him being paired with Petry. Petry's got a ton of experience as both shutting down and being offensive so I think there are some lessons there for Eddy. He looked better than I thought, honestly. I figured he'd be a bit lost but was happy with what I saw. As long as the kid puts some meat on that frame and works his core muscles for balance & body control I think we may have somethin' here!

And listen, it's been an issue pretty much all season; take 20min, we can always come back for the "W" That crap ain't gonna cut it vs NYI, etc... those teams are hunting for that trophy swamp-buck and aren't going to let up. It still looks like we're letting up too often, or at least lacking that knock-out punch.

Funny, I listened to Chicklets pod from last week; Our "branding" was not well received (is calling it a "tramp-stamp" bad?!?!?!?). Biz was apoplectic, y'all... was hilarious.
