I predicted the pens going 4-13 in their last 17 games. So far, 0-1

Fun game to watch until Rags made 5-3. I actually got a little excited when Eller tied it up on the PP.

Then it just unraveled from there. No discipline, no awareness. Sloppy all around. Jarry was a sieve.

Jake in CAR sweater. And on the same team with Kuznetsov and Orlov. Just so weird.

And of course it’s Jake with the SO game winner.

Its so surprising to see a team with so many veterans and older guys fall completely flat on basic and routine aspects of the game.
- SuperHenderson13

Not to me. Tired players make dumb mistakes. And older guys get tired more often. Especially when the coach thinks they can still play the same way they did when they were five years younger.

To say they're tired would imply their cardio is worse than it used to be and I just don't think that's the case. Physically slower? Yes, for sure. Physically not as strong? Possible in cases, yes.

Other potential reasons for dumb decisions: lack of confidence, disconnect between coach and players, pressure of needing to win every game and overthinking as a result, not just going with the flow. Hockey players are at their best when not overthinking, just reacting. Theres also the taking too long of shifts, not sure that's a thing here, but that can even gas 20 year olds. The dumb decisions yesterday ie Rust putting into the middle for a turnover to start their transition wasn't at the end of a shift and that guy is only 30 and just had almost a month off.

Pens did well getting Bunting back in the trade. The other pieces are average but they looked just an dangerous as with Guentzel, at least to the eye.

Once Dubas adds pieces to replace everything he got rid of from the Hextall days it will still be scary playing the Pens.

Only 1 player finished with a PLUS yesterday... hopefully they sign him for next season - the new coaching staff will handle his TOI on the power play much better.

Can’t get anymore “play dumb for Lindstrom” than getting seven goaled. Glad I was out at the bars for st paddy’s instead of sitting through that

5-2 Detroit.
2 points for Sid.

Alex Ny - 8 goals and 11 points in 11 games with cbus. Primarily on the second line, now bumped up to the first.

Maybe sully should use players appropriately.

Scary playing the Pens? Those days are over for the forseeable future unless Dubas works miracle upon miracle. They are cooked for as far as the eye can see.

He’s probably referring to what dubas is doing in the year 2030

Also as long as Sully is the coach they will suck, they need a change. I wouldn't call the Pens scary either anymore even with a coach change, but they are better than this.

We didn’t blame jr for brassard not working out, as well as a couple other players that just didn’t work here. Maybe it’s always been sully.

Yea he's definitely stubborn. Another one was Reaves, what's wrong with a dude who can score on the 4th line and beat people's ass as well. Especially at a time when Wilson was at his height of power. We've played way worse dudes on the 4th line.

The last part may be true… but nylander got chances in the top 6 and did nothing.
