Pens are going to tire out playing NYR today. I am seeing a rather frustrated team as they lose the 1st period to NYR 3-2. Gonna be a hot game tomorrow!!!!
That and we get to see Ned in goal, which will be fun!!!

Forget how much fun winning can be!

I apologize again for too many posts. Just feel like I should try to do pre and post game and balance it out. Hard to know sometimes

Dude, STAHP! We are fans (ok, some trolls thrown in here n there, but you get my point...) here and reading your posts makes being a fan an absolute pleasure. Post until your fingers bleed

Today was a good game, but I could see several areas on defense that voncern me: passing lanes aren't being filled, we're collapsing vs pushing into opponent's space, and late to transition to offense. Gotta tighten that down.

I know some folks may not wanna hear this based on the "less than savoury" showing for 7 games, but I REALLY want Kane & Sprong re-upped. Aside from them scoring roday, vased on the entire bidy of work, these guys are critical to the continued march to improvement. Kane's sublime with the puck and has an insanely unpredictable shot, he calms things down when he's on the ice. Yeah, his defense is like a Matador, but the other things he does...we need that. Sprong's just a beast. His shot's a bomb, he hits lile a train, and actually dishes the puck relatuvely well. His physicality is essential and he causes opposing teams to have to adjust how they defend when he's on the ice.

PITT's gonna be hot tomorrow. Hate saying this, but we have GOT to win. There's going to be a knife-fight for the final SCPO WC spot so we need to start sharpening our blades. We wanted "improvement" this season; we're being treated to something more. There's still a great deal of work to do, and making the SCPO would be a great thing. Unfortunately, based upon the 7 games before today, I think it'll be brutal, but just making it would be a feather in our hats. This IS a good team, but there are glaring holes that need to be filled.

Good game. Recharge. Have GOT to answer the bell tomorrow.. ..

Much appreciated. I’d love to see both guys back. Kane is one who has a much different decision than Sprong or some other UFAs. Love Sprong’s shot. IF it comes down to him or Perron, I still hope they go with Sprong. Would love DP to transition to a power play assistant. Has a lot of knowledge. For today’s win, the D was shaky and Buffalo closes in hard. Reimer really helped the guys find their footing and kept them in it. The first two goals were results of some diving and desperate plays. Good stuff, but upgrading the D over the summer has to be on the list

Thanks for that! On non game days I try to do one for the day. Game days is a pre and a post. Once the season is over (and post season for Detroit should that apply) we’ll focus on draft and some new issues (Atlanta, Salt Lake City etc). The summer is tough during the quiet days.

Playing "Crybaby" in Pittsburgh will be tough when you account for his diving, and the officials catering to him like they always do.
