I saw the Columbus blogger mention Detroit and Provorov. While that seemed like nothing more than click bait, it was intriguing.
Perhaps, the Blue Jackets take Justin Holl off our hands. Something tells me that Berggren would have to be in that deal. It would definitely be worth entertaining.

Perron and Ghost and Holl should go and Eddy and Berggren come up and Chiarot goes to the RS. Maybe Y snags some depth on D. Provorov is out there, but I think he goes to Tampa. And Dumba, only if Y gets rid of Holl. Dumba is just a 5th D anymore, as far as I am concerned.

again, dont think yzerman will do anything today.
Maybe move out Holl and another defenseman.
Who Yzerman never should of signed in the first place. Copp too.

My thoughts exactly… all this talk about making strides for the future, not just for the playoffs! The future (to me) means the young guns coming up next year to improve upon what we have built so far… you can’t do that without making room for them (see this season as an example). I hope Holl goes, Copp hopefully, Petry hopefully, and then sometime between TDL and next year, a top 4 RHD. That jumpstarts a lot of this process in a big way, of course, in my opinion.

Perhaps a surprise is coming.... Copp and Berggren to Boston for Ullmark...... a taker then for Reimer, maybe..... Holl gone with retention I'm sure and I still see Ghost moving....... a shake up is in order, and the playoffs are on the line...I don't see the team advancing but a taste would be a nice exclamation point on a better than expected season...... the Isles are charing hard, seemingly at the blink of an eye...with the Lightning as the 3rd team in the chase this could end in heartbreak for the fans and members of the team...Larkin I'm thinking of.... anyway, as it stands the boys are fragile and while my heart is with them my brain is telling me I won't have any fingernails left to bite on by season end.... what a roller coaster..... let's see what the captain pulls off today.... let's go Wings

Kuzy to the Canes?
I think Johanssen and Kuzy could bring some big depth to center on a contender.

So i'm curious, would acquiring Zegras and having him play with Kane result in the +/- of that line going up or down...

IDK, will having 2 guys on a line that are not known for back checking a good idea? Oh and the add DeBrincat to that line....great only when they have the puck.

Oh 100% i'm just curious if they can outscore it. Maybe as long as its not a large physical team

I've thought about this a lot lately. Zegras has the skill to be Detroit's long-term Kane. Kane was never known for being defensively responsible, but I do think Detroit needs that playmaker long-term, and it's certainly not Kane. Does Detroit really have that playmaking wizard in their system? I'm not sure. Danielson is a playmaker and he's responsible defensively, but is he an elite playmaker? Is Buchelnikov that playmaker? Again, he looks like he can be, but I'm not sure. Detroit needs someone long-term whose job it is to feed Cat from all over the ice. We've got the shooter, we need the disher. Right now, it's Kane, but I could see Zegras or a player like him being his replacement.

Don't think a lottery pick is much of a consideration for this year, but, OK. Albert Johansson in GR.

With Larkin out for two weeks and if Yzerman doesn’t make any changes today,
I think the Islanders and Tampa Bay make the Wildcards in the east.
Even though 13 games out of Detroit’s final 20 games are against the dreaded non playoff team spoilers. Easier schedule ???
That of course, that depends on what moves Jersey makes , if any.
If Detroit backs into the Playoffs, it will be a waste of eight days no matter which of the top seeds they face.

Copp, Veleno, Perron, Fischer, Holl, Kostin, Chiarot, must eventually all exit before this team can truly improve.
As the better teams like good cream slowly separates and rises higher to the top, emerging as true playoff contenders.
They all have a very important and common factor that separate them from the perennial bottom feeders
THEY ARE ALL WELL COACHED.
In my humble opinion, Lalonde has been a total disappointment and has not done the job he was hired to do.
If the Islanders and Tampa Bay make the wildcard, look no further than
Patrick Roy and Jon Cooper.
If the Devils make the wildcard through moves today ( they’ve just moved Toffoli for a bigger move to come ) including a goaltender with an interim coach, that only makes Coach Lalonde in Detroit look worse.
Yzerman has a history of holding on to pet loyalties like Jeff Blashill and Adam Ernie for far too long.
Please don’t tell me Yzerman is going to shoot himself in the foot and repeat that mistake with a Lame Duck Coach like Lalonde.

Looking at TSN's trade bait list, there isn't really anyone aside from maybe Lindholm (don't think the Canucks are even shopping him plus he would cost too much) that should be of interest to the Wings. A whole lot of nothing available. I could very well see Yzerman do nothing if that is what is available.

Unless Yzerman can get someone that isn't said to be available that fits for both now and at least a few more years, no point in trading futures for crap that doesn't fix anything. They need a RHD to play behind Seider and bump Petry out of the top 4 (or the lineup) and the list of RHD available is complete garbage. Unless he can make a deal for Gudas or Schenn (should have signed one instead of Holl and trading for Petry) and trade for someone else like Rasmus Andersson but then he would have to trade Holl and Petry or someone else.

I get to see Andersson play quite a bit as my local team, that move would excite me. I wonder if he'd play in Detroit, might be a bit nervous commuting around the City on scooters after the last visit to town

Sorry but i can't take you seriously after that. Yes the Wings need a coach like Roy that pulls his goalie with over 11 minutes left in the 3rd period.

You do know Yzerman didn't hire Blashill don't you? He gave him a chance because the Wings were nowhere near a playoff contender and they needed better draft picks. Erne was one of the few physical bottom 6 the Wings had and again, they were going nowhere near the playoffs so what did it matter. If those are your issues, you are grasping at straws.

Not saying Lalonde is a HOF coach but common. Wings have improved their goal scoring, PP and PK to be either pretty good or decent.

Per David Pagnotta..."#LGRW are expected to call up Jonatan Berggren. His name continues to swirl around the trade winds, but for now he's been told he's going to be called up."

I think he would have his car if he moved to Detroit Hell he could buy a bulletproof Hummer if he wants to feel safe.
