Sully'd have to pull his head out of his ass to do that. If anything He'll move the AHL guys to Sid's line.

Talked to a dude claiming he had top level insider info within Avs team (not saying he does, he claims that) said that the Avs are indeed putting together a package for Crosby BUT the only way it works is if Crosby himself actively wants to be traded. Then I started seeing that in the super-rumor Press.

My feeling is the Penguins have to have Crosby to sell tickets. He'll put butts in seats even if the team sucks so it's a good way to ride out some years while you're trying to get better with youth. There's literally no fiscal reason to get rid of Crosby.

Then there's is Sid the type of person who values staying with the same team his whole career. I'd guess he is but honestly, I wouldn't begrudge any athlete who wants to go chase more championships. We ask them to be the ultimate competitors so if they are, we shouldn't be surprised if that's their desire.

To be clear, just talking about a rumor that's out there. I wouldn't bet the dog turds on my lawn that it's going to happen.

Sid goes only if Sid wants to go. If he decides he wants another shot at a cup Dubas is going to do whatever he can to get him somewhere where he can get one and then welcome him back with open arms if he wants to come back. He's earned that right.

Word around Pittsburgh is FSG wants Sid to resign badly. Beyond the "butts in seats" aspect, they view him as intertwined with the brand and are looking beyond his retirement.

With that in mind, don't look for any shakeups with his buddies Geno, Letang and reportedly, Sullivan.

3 headed monster. Malkin-Sid-Carter!!!!!! Pens win out and reach the 2nd round. But seriously, fire Sullivan. Dude sucked when he was winning cups. Surprisingly he sucks even more when he’s required to actually coach.

Any team, especially Colorado, that has a connection to Crosby should be at least asking the question about bringing him in. As others have said, whatever happens to Sid, it will be Sid's decision.

When Sid says he wants to be a Penguin for life and he hasnt considered playing anywhere else... I believe him. I think he's too classy of a guy to take it public. But if he truly wants to leave, I think he'd talk to Dubas and FSG and it'd be arranged after the season. But if the rumors are true that he's one of the guys propping up Sullivan because he doesnt want to play for another coach... i struggle to see how going to a new team is in the cards for him.

If he wants to go, I hope he goes and wins a Cup. He's earned the right to do whatever he wants. It'd be gross to see him in another uniform.

Lifted this from a DK column...

The Penguins really hate when I type this, they're making money hand-over-fist since moving to PPG Paints Arena into one of the sweetest lease deals in all of professional sports, collecting on concerts, shows and soon even more with the development across Centre Avenue. They'll always have the wherewithal to spend to the cap and should always be held to precisely that standard.

If Sid really wants to do that I’ll be cheering for him in an AVs sweater. Dudes the ultimate hockey player. Same with Malkin, if he could go play 2nd line wing and compete for a championship more power to him.

Dubas is respecting the core vets in what he says about their role in a rebuild, but I am sure he is betting one or more of them will want to play meaningful games before retiring and agree to waive their NMCs. As long as they all are Pens, this team will be muddle in the middle, as they are now.

100% they don't want to be perceived as the people who bought the team and sent Sid packing, even if people acknowledge that he wanted out it won't help the perception of FSG in Pitt.

But if he wants to go win with Nate, they may have no chance.

I'm guessing he stays in Pitt and eventually sings for at least 3 more years after his contract.

And I can't see any of our players going to the 'Canes. They're like the Steelers. They don't make crazy moves and trust me there will be other GMs who outbid them. Good for Carolina.

From Yohe:

Dubas decided to sell before the west coast trip. That trip only reaffirmed their direction.

Dubas does not want picks, but top prospects. He doesnt like the crapshoot that draft picks entail and would prefer prospects that have had more time to be evaluated (I've always been interested to see the results if a team traded their 1st round pick for a young player/prospect every year. I think it'd be better than consistently drafting a guy). Plus, they could be NHL ready faster than draft picks.

Multiple teams have inquired about Rust, none more so than the Red Wings. However, he wont be traded this week.

Trading Jake is likely but not 100% certain.

Florida, Vegas, Vancouver, Edmonton are all teams that have reached out and shown interest.

Ned is likely to be traded this week if any goalie is moved. Jarry could be moved in the future, but not likely this week.

Pettersson is one of the few guys Dubas isnt taking calls on. He'd like to resign him for the future.

Colorado does have 3 1st round picks to toss in, but dubas doesn't want picks dubas wants prospects. I don't see much 5'7 players though with colorado? Zach Parise(39) and cogliano(36) might be 2 players dubas might like? Neither are physical and the right age.

That is good news! My only worry is Jake not being 100% odds to be moved. Pending on what the Redwings gave up. I would consider moving Rust in the offseason. Only if he had a solid return though.

I think we should do a Malkin - Crosby - Rust line. I think it could be pretty lethal.
