Coach made it sound like the moves could come from within…I’d assume that mean Edvinsson.

I am having trouble believing a lot of the trade/shopping talk. Edvinsson (at last glance) was second in points in GR behind Berggren. IF they moved out Gostisbehere that may be on the docket. Mazur was supposed to have a shot but was injured as far as forwards. No clue on the Berggren front. If they’re looking for a “shutdown” guy Eddy probably isn’t the guy.

Ironically, former Wing Jensen is being hailed as a shutdown that’s being looked at. Again, the rumors are all over the place. Before he was injured I’d thought Sandin-Pelikka may do a trip overseas if his team was done early enough. The only conversation I’ve heard of from multiple people regarding an acquisition was Wings talking to Ottawa (Chycrun was mentioned, but may be other). Past that with extensions and movements next year it’s tough to see a lot happening on the market and i go back to being fine just standing pat.

Another Dman moved

From PHR

The Devils have acquired winger/defenseman Kurtis MacDermid from the Avalanche in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round pick and center prospect Zakhar Bardakov, per a team release.

I don't see why the Wings would want Chychrun. The only thing he has over Ghost is age and a bit more size but he doesn't use it much. Ghost is outproducing him so far this season and both are not that good defensively...Chychrun seems to take a lot more penalties too and is 6th in the entire NHL in giveaways with 64 while Ghost has 27. Why give anything when Ghost can do the same or even better?

To me that is not the type of defenseman they should be looking for. They need a hard nosed RHD that can play defense or at least a good two way one for the right side. Edvinsson should be with the Wings by next season so no need to clutter the left side like they did with the right side with adding Petry and Holl...neither being what they really needed to begin with.

I have no idea why the talk keeps spinning that direction but that’s the way it’s spinning. If Detroit parts with a Dman and brings him in, it’ll be the question to ask. I do like Chycrun, and he’s probably a lower cost. The rumor “swirl” from Kaplan and a couple others is that Ghost has been talked about in a move and some confirmations that Detroit has spoken to Ottawa with Chycrun being a name mentioned. That’s it.

If a player is moved I think it will be ghost.... can't see Stevie giving him the contract he probably will be wanting... not at his age, that's not to say I don't like what he brings to the team, but it makes some sense if the right offer comes up.... otherwise sign Kane, curious what number that would be... he seems happy in Detroit and has been awesome to watch in the winged wheel... what would it take...3 year at 6 per....or will he want more?.... as far as Raymond and Mo... I see Stevie waiting until the off-season which is fine..... what do you think gets the pen to paper on Kane Jeremy?
