The fact that the aggregated team shooting percentage is kinda high (12.3% to VANs 12.8%). May not be sustainable. BUT; 5th in points, 4th in G/For (3.58), 8th in PP (23.5%), and 9th in PK (81.7%). Those aren't stats to balk at or blow off. Oh, by the way, they're 3d in SO% (80%).....(YES, I did a stats look-up ). We need to get a stronger d set up. Are we going to win the SCPO? Odds are against us there......never say never, but realistically, the shooting % alone may well be the most un-sustainable stat.

What the pundits are missing is strength in G with Lyon in the lead and Reimer pitching in a very strong back-up performance. That alone makes games remain within reach, for the most part. Pundit all they want, Detroit's on a good run of good luck (apologies to Clint Back's Good Run of Bad Luck....). Will it last? Who knows. BUT, we know the light at the very near end of the tunnel ain't no train...... Enjoy the damn ride and..........

Absolutely. Let’s have fun and see where it lands. Why segments are committed to the “I just don’t get it” bit is sad. Live sports are supposed to have some unpredictability. That’s why we watch. Sometimes the unthinkable happens and blows your mind. Thanks again for dropping in!

Some are saying Detroit is still in on Hannifin. I wonder what that may look like?

Ghost sign and trade 4x$5M + Holl at (1/2 salary) They do need a RD now. 2025 1st, 2024 3rd for Hanifin signed at 8 x $7.33M AAV ($58.64M) to 8 x $7.5M($60M)
Gotta try to include Holl, but maybe that is a bridge too far......

I wouldn’t mind Hanifin except trying to make the money work with Seider, Raymond, trying to keep Sprong. I’m not saying it’s impossible but the swirling around Chycrun seems to make more sense. Although, in truth, standing pat unless you can offload a bad contract seems to be more logical. Eddy coming up and Axel Sandin-Pelikka (when healthy) is stirring the pot quite a bit. At some point the money has to shift somewhere

You guys will never make the playoffs!!

Hello from Chicago!!

Kidding aside, Detroit has as good a chance as any to make the playoffs and do some damage. On paper, there are concerns, but the playoffs are so driven by streaks it's unbelievable. The good news for y'all is that you have a number of players that have really good shots. Larkin, Kane, Debrincat, Raymond (although I've not seen nearly as much of his play). If one (or heaven forbid two) of them really get on a roll of potting their shots, and/or your goalie hits a hot streak, you can go quite far.

Good luck making and playing in the playoffs. Probably the most rooting interest I've had for another team in ages.

VERY classy, my friend!!! And listen, complete honesty here; DRW's rivalries with AVS & CHI have been some of the most intense and rewarding hockey I've ever seen. I don't think CHI is too far off, Bedard is going to draw some folks who want to play with generational talent.....and then the games w/DET will once again set the NHL on fire!!! Oh, and Chelios is a RED WING TRUE & TRUE.....he just wants y'all to feel good about yourselves while slumping

We'll be seeing you guys back soon enough!!!!

Chumming the water for me, I see

I would definitely be in on Hannifin, you know that. The thing about Ghost is is offensive play, Hanniafin can't play that way as well, so we lose scoring. BUT, we gain a stronger defender. From what I've read, he wants 8 or nothing going into the summer, we ain't parting with much for a rental, and we have a few guys that desperately need to be signed (Mo, Rayzor, Sprong, Kane.....)......how much is too much? IF Eddy plays like he's capable of, there's one answer. If ASP blows the doors off of the palce in Camp, there's another answer...all of a sudden, we're in the enviable position of having too many good D-Dudes, but who would we trade off in that case???? I need a beer, you're making me think too much

I’m on the same page. Raymond’s improved output is making me wish they had a bridge done sooner. The cap isn’t going to make the original projected jump and I honestly don’t believe it will make the revised 4 million dollar jump (originally said to be between 5 and 7 million then revised down). Seider is going to get paid. I just don’t see how they fit Hanifin in.

While I'm not a fan of the gambling commercials (or commercials in general), I'd rather see them rather than the non-stop pharmaceutical commercials that are on the big national channels. As far as Bally goes, I don't ever recall seeing a gambling commercial as televised games are a slight mix of hockey and a massive amount of repeating commercials by Detroit's two most famous ambulance chasers.

Ok, that made me chuckle. So many billboard basically say, “someone owes you money, we’ll get it!” Are you using the Bally app or going through TV. The ads are different. I’ve been having to use the app because my service has been down.

Here’s the part of the gambling issue that is interesting. Teams know which players are doing what. It becomes leverage. I didn’t know until a lawsuit that in Vegas the players were offered massive lines of credit. 500 million that one player went through in just a couple days and skipped on the bill. That’s when you get in trouble.

I have a bias against gambling. I have family that works in Vegas (blackjack dealer) and my best friend (before he passed) lost almost everything gambling. The Detroit Casinos were allowing people to use Bridge Cards to get tokens or chips until someone threw up a flag. Just see a lot of negative fallout

Of course Chelios is a Red Wing through and through. He won more Stanley Cups here(2), than he did in Chicago(0)
