Yeah... I agree that is a bit silly at this point in time. I see it more as a sign that the team has finally turned the corner. You have to remember it's been 8 years since we've seen the playoffs and the fans have been more than patient. The fans are excited to finally have a talented team on the ice that can win. This is "Hockeytown" after all. This team has finally found it's identity and it's firing on all cylinders right now.

I can't see how it's embarrassing to have a rabid fan-base that's sick of losing express their genuine desire to be back on top. Silly assessment.

Now, I WOULD be embarrassed fi they were chanting "The Cup is OURS this year!!!' Some folks are delirious if they think we are SCF-bound this year. However, it's not unrealistic to believe we can make the SCPO this year..........May not make it out of the 1st round, but we MADE it, and that shows progress, and portneds to postentially greater things in the future. Enjoy the ride.......

Heck yeah brother! I think the average fan base doesn't pay attention at the level we do. All they know is the Wings sucked for a while, and they are kicking a$$ right now. Washington has been playing well lately, but I think the game showed that teams have to bring their A games to beat Detroit. The Caps played 5 games in the past 8 days, all against NJ, OTT, TB, FLA, OTT and then Det, so Detroit was poised to stomp them and they did what they should have done.

Does anyone know the scoop with the Hockeytown song? They used to play it after every goal, then they stopped when Stevie Y took the reins. I'm assuming they still own the rights to it as the song was written as part of a contest put on by the Wings. I just figured they paused the Hockeytown stuff during the rebuild and would bring it back when the team is back, but I've never heard anything as to why they stopped using it and when/if they'll use it again. I do know that the NHL was lobbying the Wings to give the NHL the trademark, but the Wings said no can do.

Loved Veleno’s goal. He can get streaky with good play. Seems like such a humble kid.

Debrincat is playing amazing. Seems like he is getting hot again. I think he had to have been frustrated with all the cross bars and near misses. Lately he seems to be so sneaky good. I love his work ethic. I’m definitely pumping the Debricat tires. My GF even bought me some nerd clusters after Alex told Kane it was his new fav candy!

How about Compher’s short handed goal. Nice pass from Copp. I just love it that we have guys that can finish. Too many years watching Helm on breakaways with no goals scored.

Hope that Seider is ok.

I honestly have no idea. They brought the real goal horns back (instead of the recording) and killed the tune. Maybe it’s like the 5 years where no one could sing “Happy Birthday” on TV. Someone wanted a chunk of $ and poof. Gone.

I have to think it was insane all night. That line of people for the “street artist” apparel and then seeing 8 goals go in. First 6 game winning streak under Yzerman and that pass Kane made to Fabbri was ridiculous. Probably a fairly well-served chunk of the crowd having a blast. No harm, no foul. But, if you want to guess which market is the most upset about Detroit’s place in the standings now you may have a better idea.

Yes, it must be! Especially with the Leafs' track record in the playoffs lately!
