Thanks for the blog if maybe the Flames could've held one of those losing streaks to just two, things would look a hell of a lot different! |

Thanks Trevor
Little typo in the team comparisons, it’s LA not New York
Tomorrow going to be the trade? |

Doesn’t matter. We all want to see the team win but it’s well overdue to build a team that can challenge for the cup. We’ve circled the drain for too many years. I thought when they drafted Johnny, Monahan, Benny, Kylington Andersson, Tkachuk we were on our way to that. But then Tre got impatient and blew his wad, bad player developement, stupid decisions etc…..

They could really use a Markstrom.

He's come around big time. Last year? Maybe that deal gets a look. |

Are the kings a top team in the Pacific if they have goaltending? Was the Dubois trade that bad for the Kings?

No and no.
Goaltending isn't the issue. PL's numbers aren't what anyone expected, but he played about half the season under Todd on the 3rd line with wingers who weren't scorers. Hiller adjusted after Todd was fired and he's been one of the best players on the team since the All Star break.
Todd did not adjust. The offense got stagnant in December, and he kept running out the same lines and the same offense. Guys started pressing, and it just compounded with bad turnovers and pinching that resulted in the play going the other way.
I think it is a lost season. Sure, they might sneak in as a wildcard but the Kings will be gone in the first round unless they catch fire. I think even the playoffs are in doubt now with Kempe out. I hope Blake trades Roy if he isn't going to resign him. This team needs a long break and a coaching change that shakes things up. The talent is there. |

Calgary is getting a second-rounder in return, as well as a prospect and an additional conditional pick from Dallas.
I wonder what conditional they will get and who the prospect is. Little details so far. |
