The horn going off during a Pens PP, while they had control of Wilds zone and were setup, is absolutely ridiculous. That's beer league the rink attendent is drunk on the job kinda sh!t.

Puck was off the net but not conclusive in replay ... tough luck there.

Without those two random instances I think the Pens have at least a point out of that last night.

All looks too nonchalant for me... Not much urgency from a team in the position they are...so far, anyway...

...lots of hockey left, yet

That 2 on 1 goal was textbook on how NOT to play a 2 on 1 on defence.

Not much he could do about the pass but Graves looked half dead on that backcheck.

I’m guessing 0-2 without ATCH. Snowboarding, no game on the mountain

That’s the entire point of playing a 2 on 1 on D….. You take the pass away and leave the shooter for the goalie. No goalie can go cross ice faster than a pass. He didn’t take either player is why it’s textbook on how not to play a 2 on 1.

Yeah I see that play in the NHL way too much nowadays. D always try to close in on the puck carrier while playing the pass at the same time, I never understood why

I understand how it’s played, Ek was the man back playing the 2-1.

I was just saying that graves backcheck was pathetic 2 shifts in a row.

You are definitely right. So frustrating watching the simplest things you learn from your first years of playing get played like that. Just whatever you do don’t let that pass get across. The goalie can cheat and move way out if it’s 1 on 1 because the player will run out of room if they don’t shoot being they only have half the ice to work with.
Pettersson is 1 dman that actually plays 2 on 1s like your taught to.

Man Karlsson is fun to watch. He makes those shot/passes look so easy. Head is always up looking for a player coming across.

Graves was flat footed since Jake passed it back behind him, and Ehlers is super fast right? (Isn't he famous for having one of the fastest lap times?) So I don't think we can complain about Graves on that. Few D in the NHL would have any hope of catching Ehlers on a back check, and they'd all look slow or like they weren't trying even though they were skating as hard as they can.

I don’t think I’ve felt that at all with this team this season. They’ve come from behind to tie games multiple times this year.

True, but based on recent games and how they played in the first, it seemed like scoring 2 would be tough ... and still does, but maybe 2 is enough to get a point tonight.

Yeah, a bad first period probably does them in tonight. They've been the better team overall since the 1st
