Another First Round series loss on the horizon.

We all know how this movie ends.

TDL has me curious this year. What targets do you all think Sweeney will pursue?

Think he will pursue a dman with some snarl and a center. Don’t think Lindholm from Calgary is that great. Depends on the ask, I wouldn’t give up a boat load for him especially if he is going to ask for 8.5 - 9 mil. Like the dman Middleton on the Wild . If they become sellers would look at him
Bruins playing good hockey and like I said all along they have talent and goaltending. Only problem is winning games in the regular season doesn’t mean success in playoffs. In reg season it’s one and done. Like last night they played great vs a good Jet team but do you think it’s the same result if that was game one of a playoff series. That’s when the weaknesses are exposed

I think Middleton was on their radar last year before Sweeney pulled the trigger for the Orlove/Hathaway trade. He has snarl to his game. Good place to send Gryz if thats how it ends up working out.

Lots of DeBrusk speculation. Mixed feelings on this forum about him. I would say if he is going to be shipped, some kind of middle six scoring forward needs to be coming back. Not convinced Sweeney will do it, but you never know I guess.

The Winnipeg Jets have won 17 playoff games in the last 13 teams. THEY are the team that can't win a playoff series.

Should be depth moves. Maybe someone that is solid on faceoffs (Monahan, henrique). Lindholm is ideal obviously but that is a big get. I would prefer to let the players that are winning games now decide their fate. Last years moves were all considered homeruns and all that did was take players out of the lineup that deserved to be playing. Which put doubt in there game when they were inserted (see Clifton). If Lucic is a no go, could use some snarl.

Not really sure who will be available.

If Seattle falls off, i would put in a call for Brandon Tanev. Perfect bottom 6 forward

Tanev would be a welcome addition. I wouldn't mind a flier on Monahan if the Habs were willing to make a deal for him.

Ship out Gryz for a D with some snarl. I tend to agree with ya, no need for home runs this year. Let the team play it out and just support the cast you have with some depth.

If only we could, I would add Lindholm to that package.

Not sure I'm as sour on Lindholm as of yet. Now that Forbort is back Lindholm's offense has improved slightly. We will see how things go in the next few weeks leading up to the deadline.

I would just like to know where the stud went that played for the Bs last season when McAvoy was out. If we could somehow get that Lindholm back I'd be as happy as flies on poop.

ullmark and Gryz to create cap space, Gryz has proven he cant handle the playoffs.

I do trust Swayman to be the guy, but an Ullmark trade (if it happens), feels like an off season move.

Given the premium on goalies at the moment, I'm wondering what Ullmark would fetch. He isn't on my list to ship at the TDL right now though.

It would have to be the right deal for Ullamrk in season. Would rather have him here if Swayman gets injured.

EDIT: I do think Ullmark does have to go after this year. Swayman is not happy about the arbitration hearing and he's made that clear. Taking him to arbitration was a mistake, can't do it a second time.

I agree with this. They need to extend him sometime soon. I love the goalie hug, but after this year we cant tie up what will likely be 10 mil or more into two tenders. Time to let Sway shine.

They could potentially use Ullmark to trade into the first round this off season. Some good center targets in the draft depending on what they can land.

Don't forget his sucky hockey team. They run Eichel out of town and he goes on to win a Cup the year after.

This is also why Id hesitate in trading ullmark right now. Need to have Swayman signed before he’s shipped out. Him bringing up arbitration kind of means there is some lingering resentment
