We should have never traded Owen Tippett for Claude. The guy is doing great in Philly, and we have nothing to show for it.

The Panthers need to trade for a backup goalie at the trading deadline. It's a long season and Bobrosky tends to go down with injuries. The playoffs are like another season in itself. When Bobrosky went down last year Lyons picked up the pieces and carried the Panthers into the playoffs, Stolarz will not.

I didnt like Tippett but I still hated that trade because our offense was fine at the time. There was no need for Giroux! Now its looking far worse as you say

I didn’t like it at the time, either. Zito got him to help win some face offs, which the Panthers struggled winning, especially on the PP. It was obvious that they wouldn’t be able to re-sign Giroux, and the one thing FL wishes they had right now was another winger who can really shoot the puck. I get what Zito was trying to do, and Tippet was a bit underwhelming in his time here, but I still don’t think I would’ve have made that deal.

Too bad he couldn’t have given them Denisenko instead.

Unpopular opinion here…

I was OK with the Tippett trade at the time. He was pretty inconsistent in Florida. Looks like a change of scenery/system has done good things for him in Philly.

I think we’re all suffering from hindsight being 20/20 right now.

I think Lundell and Luostarinen are dead-weight. Nine goals between the two of them. Neither one belongs on a third line much less the first. I rather have a power forward as in Tippett and Frank the Tank than those two.
It will be interesting to see if Zito tries to trade for Chychrun. I don't think Montour will be resigned as much as Reinhart will be.

When you are struggling against a loser team like Minnesota, who played the night before and got spanked by Tampa and now they are spanking you while you rested and are in your barn, you have problems! I don't care what Maurice says.

A very entertaining game, but one that the Panthers should have never lost.

Do you only consider point totals in your evaluation?
L & L are superior all around players to the other two. I’d love to have Frankie or Tippett, but in addition to not instead of L & L.

Re-signing Reinhart and Forsling have to be priority before Montour, as much as I hope they can keep all three.

Most of the nights Lundell and Loustarinen do a disappearing act. As all of you critics said Tippett wasn't doing anything for the Panthers neither are these two.

I remember when Ray Whitney was supposed to be out with an injury when Duane Sutter caught him on the golf course, guess what he got traded because he was faking the severity of his injury. Now we see Barkov who Maurice said his injury isn't that severe and we see him enjoying himself at a basketball game while letting his team get blown out by a bottom-dwelling team. He's not a team player much less a captain.

So....yes, you only use points as a measuring stick. Both of them are solid all around players, who will start chipping in more goals/points. Both are used on the PK, which helps spread that load around from the top line guys like Barkov.
And, speaking of Barkov, your take on him is MAD!

Lundell and Luostarinen are one-dimensional. They may help on the penalty kill, but the Panthers still get scored on. They really cannot bring the Panthers back from a deficit with their scoring prowess. They are not a part of the comeback cat attack. I'll take a combined goal total of 36 goals from Vatrano and Tippett than 11 from the L and L boys as you call them.

“L & L” is simply because I didn’t feel like typing it all out
What would be great is a sniper type like one of Vatrano or Tippett on the line with them instead of Cousins or Lorentz or even Lomberg (as much as I love his game). Lundell had rhino on his line last year, shocking that he scored more then. They also are playing this defense first game under Mo, and he loves what L & L bring to the game, even with the current lack of scoring. They will inevitably start scoring more.

I cannot believe they suspended Lockwood for three games for his collision with Fleury.
Only if there is a collision in his net warrants a suspension. I feel when a goalie goes behind his net on his own cognizance, he's fair game.

I don't think Cousins will come back as the media has vilified him because of his aggressive forechecking.

I hope Barkov man's up and plays Monday. Every time he has an ache or pain, he takes himself out of the lineup.

Idk, but from things Mo has said, it seems this is more on Mo keeping him out until he’s “100%”. It’s almost like he wanted a few games without Barky to see how the team handles it. It’s a big hole in the lineup when he is out. Hope he’s back in vs Nashville.

Barkov might still be out as they called up Samoskevich today, Lockwood is also out now along with Cousins so they are short on forwards

Barkov still out, stayed in Lauderdale and going for Wednesday night vs Coyotes.
Forsling also is not on the Nashville trip, on personal leave, I heard his wife is expecting.
Stolarz in goal.
Samoskevich is up, I’d like to see him get a shot with Lundell and Luostarainen.
They should help cover any rookie defensive lapses, and he can shoot if he can get open for them to feed. Maybe sparks that line’s scoring up some.
(Except one of them probably will be going up a line as Bennett moves up becuz Barkov out)
They gotta break this slide tonight, everyone is gaining ground on them.
