Would love to have Coranato stay for a couple games and sit Dube and/or Huberdeau. Maybe be a wake up call for either. |

#10 is a joke the third line makes over 20 million ! Ouch gotta dump him even if it means loss of a good prospect , that’s the only way out of that trap |

DeSimone, Oesterle, Solovyov and Gilbert are not top 6 NHL defencemen at this point.... when we move our pending UFA's getting back young NHL ready Dmen has to be a priority. |

Yup. And they should look for some old vets that can help teach and insulate the young guys.

Lebrun from the Athletic:
The question is, what would it take for the Leafs to force the issue ahead of the trade deadline on a Chris Tanev trade? A first-round pick, that’s probably what.
I think if the Leafs were willing to move their June first-rounder, they could potentially entice the Flames into getting this done sooner rather than later. Too rich a price? Maybe. But Ben Chiarot, a similar type of defenseman who was also a pending UFA, went for a first-round pick two seasons ago from Montreal to Florida. David Savard, another rugged, physical, shot-blocking defenseman, also went for a first-rounder from Columbus (via Detroit) to Tampa Bay at the trade deadline in 2020-21, so I don’t think it’s completely greedy for the Flames to be thinking first, even if they end up settling for a second and/or a prospect instead.
Notably, the Habs waited on that Chiarot deal. He played 54 games for them in 2021-22 before getting dealt to the Panthers in March. General manager Kent Hughes decided he needed to wait for more teams to have room to take him on, to create a bigger market, and obviously, it worked out perfectly in that case, netting a return that surprised many. |

IMO he has to work on his angles. It will come but he is getting beat clean at times. |

Maybe mot top 4 but definitely bottom pairing. I think Solovyov could be a top 4, also Poirier has potential to be top 4. I’m fine with Gilbert and DeSimone as a bottom pair. |

Agree! To trade Tanev this early, the offer has to be pretty darn good. Truth be told, if Toronto coughed up their 2024 1st if Calgary ate 2.0 mill of cap I would say ok to that deal. A late first for Tanev would be pretty darn comparable to anything we would get come Feb/March.
Ek's post is comical but if Coyotes actually want both Hanifin & Lindholm, the price would be huge. & I just dont see either quickly signing an extension to facilitate a trade. I would say they would be better off upgrading the rental on Hanifin, something like Dumba, Guenther & maybe 2 of the Yotes 4 3rd round picks in 2024. Hanifin would be huge upgrade for Yotes if they think they can go for it. If things go sour they can always flip Hanifin at the TDL for most of what they gave up. Let Dumba play 2nd pairing here in Calgary & either flip him or resign him if he fits in ok.

A late 1st for Tanny with 50% retained is fair market value and I think Conny will get that provided Tanny is healthy.
The black hole in our prospect pool is at D and C so when Lindy and Hani are moved I expect that to be addressed. |

When the offers start getting ridiculous.
Sarangovich looking like a very smart trade. Flames get younger, faster and avoid a retirement contract. |

Avoid a retirement contract..... like Huberdeau. What the fudge was Huska thinking? Stop playing him on the power play and shootouts. Trade him to Montreal where he wants to play for a bag of pucks. |

Pretty sure it was Treliving that signed Huberdeau. To blame Huska for trying to get him going is just wrong.you want our 10 mil player sitting? Crap JH has 15 points, Weegar has 18 points, Chucky has 20 points. People need to get over the contract, nobodies trading for him, you can’t bury him, best thing the Flames can do is to try and find what makes him work. I think he’s looked better with Coleman and Backlund, This isn’t an easy out, why would Montreal want him? Because he’s French? The cost for them to take him would set this franchise back even further. People need to find something else to focus being pissed about, Huberdeau isn’t the only reason the Flames are sucking.
Again how about Sarangovich? That’s a nice looking player Conroy got back from New Jersey add in 3rd round pick Suniev and I’m really liking the trade. |

Was at the Dome for the Canuck game and as I was wandering the concourse, I wondered if you were there.
It had been 10 years since I was at a live game in the Saddledome, crazy. I worked for Cana but not on the Dome, was on Petrocan towers for 3 years, but got to go explore the state of the art facility before it opened to the public. |

It would take 50% retained and I'd still do it. He has to pick up his play to even attract takers for that IMO. |

Was a Season Ticket holder for 24 years then had to give them up as they required vaxx to go to games of which I didnt get. So I havent been to a game since early 2020. Not that I cant go now its just I havent wanted to spend my $$$ on this sh!tshow hahaha. I'll probably go to a Wrangler game before I go to a Flame game Who knows, maybe Conroy will do a better job on the re*****ing job & I'll pay the $$$ to watch them in the new building. |

Hate to say it, but we're stuck with that anchor of a contract...fu Treliving. Just embrace it & dont think of the salary when he plays on the 3rd line & 2nd power play where he belongs. Whether the Flames want to say it or not, semantics, retool....rebuild, its all the same rocknroll to me. He will just help us get to the cap floor anyways as we find our next stars on ELC's who are trying to prove themselves like Zary, Coronato & Wolf. Huberdeau is even more untradeable than Lucic was.
Perhaps, you get a scenario where Conroy eats 2.0 mill & trades Huberdeau for a guy like Meier in Jersey who is crapping the bed big time in Jersey & is also on his 1st year of an 8 year deal. Thats the only scenrio I possibly see. Conroy is not paying $5.25 mill for the next 7 years & eating that much dead cap space. Either that or the new CBA is coming up in a few years & with that a chance teams will get a chance to do some amnesty buyouts where they dont need to eat the cap space. That will be a Murray Edwards call on the though. |
