Absolutely no puck luck this season so far…
Looked real solid again… tons of quality chances - just need to finish -
but the penalties must stop - it’s crazy … gotta get through to the kids -
Minty - LaCombe and Luneau look totally comfortable out there -
Where is Drysdale … can’t be possible injured for a big part of the season again-

Drysdale is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. By
Agree 100% regarding the penalties. I think they're trying to show teams that they aren't going to be pushed around like they were last season. But, geez, that's enough! They play pretty well at 5 on 5 but if you're killing a ton of penalties, they obviously aren't taking advantage of that.
LaCombe and Mintyukov have been fantastic! Luneau was better in his second game. Despite their record, this team is much more fun to watch, and for me, that's a step forward! - duxcup07
There’s simply no comparison to last year…Cronin is a real actual coach with real systems… hell he’s got big boss Ross out there making solid plays..
McTavish needs to pull his head out though… he’s been absolutely brutal… quit trying to act like a tough guy and just play…
Be nice if Z could actually find the net ….every shot is over the net or wide…
Even Silf and Rico look real good… |

Z looks like a guy who missed training camp. He should just about be in game shape now. LaCombe after 6 NHL games is better than most of the 'veterans' the Ducks had on D last season. Mintyukov's skating is so solid that when he makes mistakes he can get back in position and still make a play. Too many dumb penalties and special teams are a work in progress, but definitely more fun to watch this year. |

Our D is so much better and Cronins system… shocking I know a defensive system is playing to the strengths of these kids… love to see it - |

C'mon Ducks... beat the Bruins. I'd like to keep them in our rear-view mirror for once so we can make the playoffs. |

Well Cronin wants more shots in the slot. And it's gonna take while before Ducks players are use to shooting there. The heat maps show most goals are scored between the face off dots in front of the goalie. It's just that if you actually watch the games. He would realize most of the primary and secondary assists are happening outside the slot. So I take from this is yes, he is correct. Shoot more from the slot. But in my opinion that's not where those great shots are actually generated from. There generated from quick passes into the slot, rebounds of of goalies, players skating into the zone with speed, turnovers in the neutral zone, tip-ins in front of the net, ect. So those heat maps need to be taken with a grain of salt.
And buy the way. I really like Cronins fire. Haven't seen someone the passionate since a young Randy Carlyle took over in 2005. And I hope he just keeps working at it. This Ducks team is very raw. And whatever Cronin decides to teach these young Ducks, is just going to take a while. Just alot of repetition and practice time. But so far I'm impressed. |

They've played well enough in their own end to be better than 1-4. On offense, net front presence is lacking. If there is no one on the doorstep keeping D occupied, it's harder to get the puck to scoring areas and there are fewer rebounds. Regenda has 4 goals, all from around the crease, in 3 games in SD. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get another look in ANA soon. |
