Nowhere to go but up ….

Real coach with actual systems - ✔️

Experience with growth from Z / McTavish/ Terry / Carlsson / Baby Z / Pavel / ✔️

Full year of Drysdale…only 8 games… Huge huge loss last yr ✔️

Exp of Gudas / Killorn / the Boosh will def help ✔️

Gibson actually happy to come to rink ✔️

Yep yr looks at least interesting….

Totally agree. However, I'd feel a lot better if Zegras and Drysdale were signed. I don't get what the holdup is, especially with Drysdale. Jaime has literally no leverage to bargain with, so a deal with him should be easy. Trevor's deal is making me nervous. GMPV has set a precedent with the Terry signing, Zegras has similar offensive numbers, so a 7 year-$7 million deal seems like a no-brainer to me. Camp is right around the corner.

Love the signing of I should say PTO of Zack Kassian as he's a great 4th line player and if me makes the team to protect the kids along with Gudas I think that will be a real under the radar signing. I wanted the Kings to give him a PTO as they have been pushed around the last 2 playoff series vs Edmonton

I just saw a projected lineup for the Sharks. After, seeing that, I'm pretty confident they won't be DFL. However, I still think they'll be picking in the top 10 of next year's draft. I think they're going to need a couple of years for Zellweger, Mintykov, and Carlsson to be everyday NHL players.

Don't think 7 x $7M per is as straight forward as you're making it out to be with the expected rise in cap the next 2 to 3 seasons.

I'm guessing that is part of the hold up.

Sabres are facing a similar situation with Owen Power.

Checked Evolving Hockey and they have an 8 year deal at an $8.4M cap hit predicted for Zegras.

There have been reports of what the Anaheim Ducks are offering Trevor Zegras on his next contract and a clear reason why he hasn't signed yet. According to Renaud Lavoie, the Ducks are only offering Zegras in the $3-4 million AAV range, likely on a bridge deal.
With the talent level of Zegras and his role on the team right now, it is obvious why the sides are so far apart. It's a dangerous game the Ducks seem to be playing with their top talent as they have over $16 million in cap space to work with this season and can easily offer a bit more to their star.

Per Big Head Hockey, there are only six forwards in the NHL over the past five years with as many or more points than Zegras at his current age, which includes Andrei Svechnikov, Jack Hughes, Tim Stutzle, Brady Tkachuk, Auston Matthews, and Elias Pettersson. On each of their first contracts out of their entry-level deals, nobody signed for less than 9.05% of the cap, equaling at least $7.5 million AAV.

WOW, that is pretty far apart! I don't blame Z for being discouraged with this team's management, if true!
