I hope so too, but hell, I'd take San Diego! I just don't want GMPV to ship him back to Sweden! Let him get used to the smaller ice ASAP!

He'll still only be 18 years old on opening night. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Ducks believe he is physically ready for the rigor of an 82-game NHL schedule. Skills are there but physically it's asking a lot from an 18-year old. I don't expect to see him on the roster when the Ducks break camp. Maybe last guy cut, similar to Getz in his draft year.

If he's not with the Ducks out of camp, I'd prefer to see him start the season in SD where he'll play more games than in the SHL. He'll carry Sweden to the medal round in the WJC which is in Sweden this year. After WJC, Ducks will have a decision to make. Similar path to Zegras three years ago - SD, WJC, ANA for the last 20+ games.

Carlson is a super player. He’s strong enough to play AHL then he’s strong enough for NHL. Only issue is adjusting to pace and small ice. Let that happen in stages. Starting with those 9 games

Though it sucks that the Ducks need players and won’t trade any top talent to get a boat load like LA and Vegas.
