I thought last game was the biggest? They’re all huge right now!

Man Ehlers was flying tonight. Not a lot to complain about with this effort. It was fun to watch them just roll line after line in the o-zone. Nice game Jets!

Yes, I would have called it Ehlers best game of the season if he had potted those three zingers off the iron. Either way, Fly was definitely flying last night.

Strange how Jets fans can be cheering against the Preds and then a few hours later find themselves in a situation where they should be cheering for them to beat the Flames ( even though I fully expect the Flames to torch the Preds on Monday) . The reality is Jets will most likely need 3 points out of a possible 6 to be playoff bound.

Ehlers and Connor can BOTH play on my team at any time. They're both keepers!

The reality is that these two maybe the only remaining forwards of the "veteran" core next season.

I don’t have cable so I wasn’t able to watch Ehlers play what others describe as his best game of the year … I can only listen. The team needs Ehlers so it’s good he has picked up his game.

Is that a recant?

Nope, not ready to recant. It was one game where he finally skated like he can for 60 minutes, vs a non playoff team without their best dman and in a ridiculous stretch of games down the stretch.

Ehlers is still a perimeter player on a team that doesn’t go to the net by nature. Against tight checking teams this will show up as struggling to find room to skate, get shots through and score.

55,81,26 and perfetti also depend on thier perimeter play. I’m looking for a culture reset and that means moving on fro 55,26 when feasible, and one of Ehlers or Connor. That style of play is going nowhere when the other teams play top hockey.

Ehlers- so all we hear is his stats 5 vs 5 are the best on the team last 3 years and second best 4 years ago

Last night he was 9th most minutes for Jet forwards 5 vs 5

he was great , only Jet that can enter ozone and keep possession

appleton gets more ice time almost every night

thar has to come from above Coach

No mention on this board about Scheifele scoring his career high 40th goal of the season which by the way was the game winning goal!

I love 55!

What can I say? Hellybucyk is really really good. If you guys get in which I hope you do and he gets hot you have as good a chance as anybody in the west.

I saw Ekholm was +6 last night for the Oilers. By far the best trade done this year by any team . The Oilers are now unbeaten in 10 , and 15-4-1 in their last 20. I doubt anyone is still concerned that Ekhom has 4 years left at $6 M +

Trade was Ekholm for Tyson Barrie, 2022 first-round draft pick Reid Schaefer, the 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 fourth-round pick.

The Oilers also did well to get rid of Jesse Puljujarvi . I believe Nick Bjugstad was the replacement. Puljujarvi has done absolutely nothing for the Canes and is often a healthy scratch.

And to think that Rexy wanted Jesse P to be a Jet…..🤣

So are facing James Reimer - again - tonight?

IMO the Jets are so worried about trying to play defence, we can't generate offence. Take the reigns off Connor, Scheifele, PLD Vladdy, and Ehlers - and let's get some goals - and beat these guys. Rather win 5-3 than lose 2-1!

Activate the D from the get go, get some guys like NN, Lowry and PLD in the blue paint. Of course we have to WANT to win more than the Sharks. That should be a given!

Now will the coaching staff listen?

If SJ keeps our shots to the outside again and Reimer makes the first save we will be in tough. We are not the kind of team to go to the net, limit the vision of the goalie and hammer in a rebound. We have played them well enough to win but not well enough to beat them.

From what I have seen, the Jets are playing "not to lose" rather than "to win." This has got to change - tonight!

If current forwards are scared the puck might hit them, put out some different forwards - didn't Chara, Byfuglien, etc (you know, big d-men) do that at one time - screen the goalie when their teams were having problems scoring?

Maybe dress one of Stanley, Kuhlman, AJF - 4th line - and tell them they are there for one purpose - screen the goalie - perhaps on PP? We can't be any worse can we? See if James Reimer can see around Logan Stanley!

Desperate times call for desperate measures! A good offense is the best defense!

It is very interesting how big a role the Blackhawks have played in the Jets' playoff run. This will be the fourth recent game where the BHawks have played against the competition the night before we play them. This time they play the Wild who decided to start Gustavsson. I assume the Jets would therefore be playing against Fleury on Tuesday night.

While I don't want to get too far ahead here.... also of interest is of course the race for first. Essentially three teams remain and whoever ends up winning the last wildcard spot in the West probably doesn't want to face the "red-hot" Oilers. The best bet might be the injured Avs or the "somewhat average of late" Golden Knights.

The task at hand for tonight - Beat the Sharks !....and then cheer bigtime for the Preds.

Why is Saku Maelanen in the NHL?
He is the worst forward we’ve ever had and poor Namestikov is saddled with him on the 4th line.

Embarrassing that he’s a regular

Umm Namestnikov is centering the 2nd line with Ehlers and Wheeler.

Maenalanen is on the 4th line with Stenlund and Barron which is an AHL line if we're being honest with ourselves.

My mistake it was a line change that had them out there together

I can’t stand watching Maelanen
