I am starting to think Wade Flaherty must be an accomplished goalie coach / miracle worker.

He seemed to get Broissot’s career back on track and I was not very impressed with Rittich but he has been solid after a shaky preseason and early season.

You have to luv it when a player proves everyone wrong.

Wasn’t pretty… but they capitalized on their chances and Rittich played well to pull out a win. The next two games will be tougher.

Brossoit wasn’t Flaherty. He had the same independent goalie coach as Hellebuyck. That’s why they’re the only two goalies we’ve ever had that managed more than one decent season

This is true!

Even Eric Comrie commented on how much more he learned in the Devil's system as opposed to the Winnipeg one. He was a very different goalie when he returned here.

I would like to see Chevy take a run at aquiring Chychrun. Under contract until 24/25 season at 4.6 cap hit, capable 1-2 defenseman, will benefit from playing on a deeper team with stronger structure. His minutes could be managed better in Winnipeg, He is a significant upgrade compared to any of the current D with exception of Morrissey, though Dillon's physicality is a different necessary asset.

It would cost the '23 1st rounder, likely to be a late in the round pick. Also would likely cost Heinola - though Arizona may prefer a different prospect... as long as the name isn't perfetti then we can let them choose which one.

Also a young roster player needed to be included. maybe Samberg or Stanley? If they are looking for a forward it might cost Barron or Gustaffson. That hurts but the best player in the deal is still Chychrun.

A few "injury prone" players that overcame that label and come to mind are Crosby, Bergeron, Gary Roberts. A couple d-men who had serious injuries early are Brett Burns and Robyn Reghir. He is young enough that his career is far from being defined by injury. His play is beyond what I expect from a 4.6m cap defenceman and locked in for several years is a huge bonus.

When the freeze is over seal the deal.

I disagree that he could sink us. His 4.6cap suggests a 3-4 dman, he has been playing 1-2 minutes with 1-2 numbers. If he slips to 5,6,7 quality then he 'sinks' us in the sense that kulikov did where he was a good piece but didn't live up to the contract (and JC has 2.5more years not six like OEL did).

Did anyone else feel that Gufstasson struggled mightily last night? He couldnt get the puck out of the zone, what like, 14 times?

Give Rittich credit in playing well lately but the Jets just dont have the horses right now with all the injuries to beat Boston or the Caps.

Perfetti, Wheeler, Schmidt, Ehlers, Maenalanen (who I think is very needed back), Appleton, Stanley.

That is half of the top 6 right there so hopefully these guys heal up quick!

Could let him walk as a UFA, don't have to sign him.

Could trade Chycrun with one year left and recoup some assets, they really only need him for two runs anyway.

Lots of soon to be UFAs in this lineup (55, Helle, PLD)
so who knows what the future brings, also no guarantee Chycrun would sign here anyway.

I think a Horvat or O’Reilly would look real nice for a stretch run.

I also wanted to comment on the class shown by Jets players to shake Ovechkin’s hand for passing Gordie Howe. That was well done and it made me proud to be a fan of this franchise!
