I don't think it changed anything. Their need was at center and LD. There were almost no left D available and the center crop outside of Tavares was limited.
Had these pieces been available I think MB would have made a splash. Now he's trying to do so via trade. |

Nothing different with salaries, as all players paid in US dollars. BUT....taxes....now, that is different from team to team. And Canadian cities do not stack up well in that respect. |

I would assume this benefits players in Florida and Texas where there is no tax? |

While its not false, I can guarantee you they are all incorporated and pay the lowest income tax possible anyway...
Just like the doctors are doing here in Quebec, they shouldn't be allowed, but that another debate ! |

Just because the Hawks were dumb enough to give Teravainen to Carolina to get out of a bad contract (which was much worse than Mason's btw) doesn't mean the Habs didn't get enough in their trade with Winnipeg.
I think getting a solid NHL player in Armia and 2 low picks for 1.3M cap hit for 2 seasons (in which we most likely won't spend up to the salary cap) and a AHL player is a damn good deal. |
